Hi all, my 2021 PB is starting to develop a harsh downshift from seventh to sixth gear when I am towing. The trailer I tow weighs in at approx. 5000# loaded, not terribly heavy. I sometimes can feel a bit of harshness in the 3-4 upshift as well, but only when cold and under normal driving. I attribute this to a possible CDF issue but since it is not bad, and I want to avoid having the transmission pulled apart, I can live with it for now. My truck has 50k miles on it and I have an 8/100k ESP, so I am not worried about warranty yet.

I am correct that the 7-6 downshift is also a symptom of the CDF issue? Is this something I should live with, or should I have it looked at?

Thanks.

PS, no codes are present.

I have the exact same thing on my 2022 2.7 with 52k miles. It bangs hard into 6th when it downshifts to stay in the power band. Also occasionally get hard shifts from 2-3-4, and 7-8. Dealer could not replicate it, of course. Which is super frustrating.

What’s suspect you’re starting to see the bushing migration and the derogation of the Teflon seal.
He might try to have it reprogrammed but considering it’s a 2021 odds are a new transmission is in your future
