Yep, another disappointment from Ford. Off to the July 4th build week. Started at 6 June, then 13 June and just now 4 July. I might just just tell Ford to keep their bucket of bolts (or there lack of).

I hate to post this now with the bad luck of a few, but I was just thinking, another week closer. Yes, it took 5 months to get a VIN, but no scheduling roller coster.

Feb 2 Order: 22 Lariat 500A/3.5 EB/FX4/Max Tow/+
Received this today from Granger.

Hope all is well with you. Ford has advised dealers they will be deleting connected navigation and Sirius XM satellite radio from orders. However, you will still be able to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto from your phone to transfer maps to your radio screen. A $200 credit will be issued on the window sticker.

anybody else given this not so good news?

Received it yesterday….which immediately confused the hell out of me because #1: my blend date is Friday so why did you wait until 3 days prior to let me know this? And #2: the window stickers update daily and as of TODAY mine remains unchanged so did Granger jump the gun on this email? I “may” have already been allocated the parts when I was scheduled on May 5th (WAYYYY before the removal was even announced). At this point I’m hoping and praying my blend dates arrives and nothing ends up being removed from my build. Have you received your window sticker yet?

I wonder if they are deleting XM Radio all together or just deleting SiriusXM with 360L capability , according to this article.

I will preface this by saying there are folks on this forum who are much more connected to the 'real' information. Having said that, it occurs to me that 'Connected Navigation' ( A feature listed under Sync 4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition as 'Standard Equipment' ) and 'Sirius XM with 360L', may both depend on satellite capability for their initial and ongoing subscriptions so maybe the ability to communicate to the skies is the capability that is being left out and now deleted for a $200 credit. If a single chip required to talk to the heavens is what is not available, or maybe the Shark fin on the roof is the missing link, and these two 'Standard Features' are now non-starters, what about OTA? is that now defunct ? What about 'Cloud Connected'? Is that 'Standard Feature' now also going to quietly disappear?

There is a little paragraph in the 'Standard Equipment' list that states that Connected Services and Features depend on AT&T network availability. It also says that based on technology changes, these features may not work in any case too. Maybe this is what is being left off of the F150 builds that is going to kill 'Connected Navigation' and Sirius XM subscription capability?

Whatever is being omitted from the builds, Chip @ Granger stated that it will not be possible to restore it or add it back in at a later date so essentially Taps has been sounded on whatever it is. Wonder what that implies for MY23? I also wonder if this is something being taken away from the 'gas' products in favor of the 'Electric' products? Are these vehicles being scavenged even before they are part of the reuse/recycle part of the supply chain?

Finally, the citied article seems to imply that deleting these two 'features' and indeed some of the other features being deleted, are a way for Ford to clear out the inventory in their chip deserts. If that is the case, how many of us are going to be presented with vehicles that were not 'Built-to-Order' and satisfied with units that will roll off the transport with rusty underbellies, sheared axle bolts ( on the 9.75" semi-float Rear Axles ) and insulation scored aluminum driveshafts that may catapult our new trucks into the ditch 500 miles off the lot?

Okay, I get that you have to connect your truck to somebody's Wifi for OTA, but that still leaves in question all the other features that depend on tethering to the 'cloud'.

Notification is just bad luck. When they had to make this call, those next up in line have little to no notice. Not much can be done there. They had no issues last month with this.

Nature of the times. I know we have no clue what we get from our vendors on a daily bassis.

Interesting. When I CAN get the Ford order tracking site to work, there is an expandable list on the page that will list out most of your features and options. This evening, that page came up and a new item has shown up on the list for my potential rig.
  • Connected Navigation and SiriusXM® with 360L Removal
My rig is supposed to be built in two weeks but still no WS to verify/scrutinize before possibly telling Granger to keep the 95% order and refund my Deposit. I did want the Satellite radio and while Nav would be nice, that‘s all it would be.

I’ve got the 502A package on order and don’t (yet) see that. Hopefully it stays that way. Although I don’t really mind losing that option if that happens. I don’t use Sirius and prefer Waze via CarPlay for navigation
