I fix software bugs!
The awesome sound of the 5.0 makes up for the difference in low end torque compared to the ecoboosts, IMO.
That and I find the 5.0 power more linear too...

Don't forget the Tremor comes with dual exhaust that exit out the back. Yes, its a single split into two tail pipes but the V8 rumble comes through perfectly. The V6 will never compare. I installed the Tremor/BAP dual exhaust on my '21 crew 5.0 and the sound is perfect. It is a huge difference from the original single side exhaust. Not as loud as aftermarket exhaust but then that's not what I want from my F-150. I leave that to my GT500. While I was at it I also added the Tremor skid and deleted the silly aero spoiler.
How much did your milage change with removing the air dam and putting on the tremor skid plate? It's a good looking upgrade.

To say that turbos WILL go out is 100% not factual

A buddy and a coworker both with 5.0s are on their second engine.. one with 70k miles, another with 130k miles... That's just people I know

Another good friend has 302k miles on his 2011 Ecoboost with original turbos

To say one engine is better than the other... is just stupidity.. they're both great engines

I prefer the quiet performance of a 3.5
It can be frustrating to see people who really don't have a clue what they're talking about throwing opinions out there under the false banner of fact. Is what it is.

Statically, the 2.7 Ecoboost has been the most reliable. Turbo boost being under stress is about as stressful as 7000rpm, so pick your poison.

I've had both EB engines and now a 5.0.

The 5.0 takes the cake. A very balanced and enjoyable drive.

I'd do the 5.0 again, but as I tow, would go with the 3.73 rear end. I recommend you do as well.
that's actually exactly my setup, a light-ish (supercab) 5.0 with 3.73. Tows up and down mountains no issue whatsoever and does not overheat.

my buddy on the other hand had a gorgeous brand new 2022 ram 1500 sport with hemi whose transmission basically almost fell out trying to tow a 6,000 lb trailer.

+1 for ford

I have a '23 SuperCrew 5.0 2wd. I love it. My wife has a '20 Expedition XLT 3.5. I love it. I drive both at least once a week, so I get to sample both back to back often. The 3.5 has WAY more oomph off the line, but once the 5.0 get up to maybe 25-30 mph, the Coyote feels quicker. The 3.5 would get the dig all day, every day. I'd go with the 5.0 personally. I really think the Coyote's days (or years) are numbered. Get one while you can. I suspect the Gen 15 may not have a V8 option. Just got a feeling.

Both the 3.5 and 5.0 are at the end of product life cycle. Death date for 3.5 is 2030, death date for 5.0 is 2028. Whether Ford changes this or not remains to be seen, Ford is counting on ramped up EV adoption and the ICE engines going away. The only internal combustion engines Ford plans to produce after 2030 are the 6.8 & 7.3 V8, the rest of the internal combustion lineup has replacements all ready lined up.

Looks like if my next new truck is a Ford, it'll be a Super Duty then, lol

In the original Unifor contract shows the F-150 as a possible future powertrain application for the 6.8 V8, so if consumers still demand it, Ford is prepared to put the Mini-Zilla in these…but it will probably be your only ICE option and 80% will be electric. It makes logistical sense, they only need produce ICE at Essex/Windsor where the 6.8/7.3 are made and they will scale back the rest into battery manufacturing etc

Thank goodness the 5.0 is slower, less powerful, and less efficient than the 3.5TT!

It's bad enough with it just winning the sound competition...

Not any big change still getting 20 plus.... On long straight roads with no wind or hills and 65 MPH. Add head wind, hills, more speed and any stop n' go and it drops quickly.
I believe the skid plate is better than just removing the air dam as it covers the front frame and suspension.
