How many miles are you running before you change spark plugs?

What Brand and type plug are you running?

Are you tuned?

Most have the best luck with OEM plugs
Inspect for carbon tracking
Replace boots with you have tracking
Most replace at 25k
A tune will shorten plug life

Ford Recommended is 60,000 miles. I changed mine at 30,000 only because I wanted to keep the threads fresh as to not run into any broken spark plugs down the road.

Did they need to be changed at 30k, no they still looked great, worked great.

One thing to watch for though is if you are doing it yourself at some point in 2021 or 2022 the 3.5EB went from a tapered spark plug to a crush washer spark plug, so just be sure you are getting the correct style for your engine. My June2021 truck was still tapered...

No tune here, currently at 70,000 and probably going to do them again here before winter arrives.

Sorry but I don't even remember what I put in...probably OEM or maybe a NGK...it won't matter

I bought my '22 used with 52000 miles on it and changed the plugs (OEM) shortly after purchace. Truck was running fine before. The plugs looked ok, but several electrodes were wore down from use. Truck now seems to run/idle smoother.

I replaced mine when I tuned the truck @ 32K miles. I went with OEM one step colder plugs. I just cracked 55K miles and will plan on replacing them again around 60K.

Looks like most are changing them early. I think I will too. 23k on mine and looking at Livernois tune. I want the tow tune and a little more performance won’t hurt my feelings.
I’ve thought about trading for a 5.0 and adding a supercharger.
Covid didn’t allow for many choices when I bought mine.
Most dealers were asking over msrp and low balling my trade.
I found this one on the lot and they were better than most dealers.

I changed mine at 75k. I wanted to change them sooner but didn't have the free time to do it. Some took a lot of torque to get loose, compared to the torque recommendation for tightening them. For that reason, I would recommend people get to them as early as you can.

I have a 2021 3.5 ecoboost. I changed mine the first time at 60k. They still looked fine and it ran good. I changed to a aftermarket brand that in my mind before doing research was better then stock. But at 90k I was having a shaking and vibration at wide open throttle. And one point when taking out on the highway I thought I had blown my motor or something cause of the shaking and loss of power. I then decided to change the spark plugs cause the code that showed up after that time showed a miss fire on cylinder 4. I had done a bit of research and people were telling me only go with motor craft. Everything other brand doesn’t last. I put new ones in and have been totally fine since. Now at 110,000 miles no vibration or shaking. But yes anything built after 8/2021 has different spark plugs than the previous ones.

For the 2022+, anyone find colder plugs for the newer indexed plugs?

On my early build 2021 3.5EB, I'm running NGK LTR7BHX Ruthenium Spark Plugs (1 Step Colder). My truck is tuned and I have the plugs gapped down to 0.024". I installed them 2 years ago and I only put 14,000 miles on my truck since they were installed, no issues yet. I'll probably change the plugs out at a 30K interval.

For the 2022+, anyone find colder plugs for the newer indexed plugs?
I cannot confirm their fitment or that they will index correctly, but Denso 5345 (0.031" gap) should be one step colder and Denso 5346 (0.031" gap) should be two steps colder compared to their stock replacement 5344 (0.043" gap).

Replaced at 62,000 miles

> What Brand and type plug are you running?
NGK Ruthenium HX High Ignitability Spark Plug PSPE Tip LTR6BHX. I'll probably just get stock Ford plugs next time, these ran a little rough for about a month.

> Are you tuned?
Negative. Wait, me or the truck?

Is there an advantage to running a colder plug than hotter? I have a Livernois tuner on the way and would like to know what the advantage is.
