So I’ve been having issues with my 21 lariat power boost for the last month or two. A previous 23 I owned had similar electrical issues which I ended up getting out of. Just wanted to see if anyone else had a resolution for the 21 powerboost with the stop safely now.
It’s been at the dealership for over a week. I have a Ford case opened.
It’s extremely frustrating since it’s a $76,000 truck that clearly has problems on the power boost motor not just with my truck but many many many others across the forms.
Right now they’re saying they replaced the 12 V battery and have to reprogram different modules across the truck. Which they have been trying to do for the past three days, it’s very interesting that they are programming for three days and can’t get all the modules to synchronize. You would think that this would be some type of Ford technical case needing to be opened.
Insights would be greatly appreciated.

also service advisor notes that they texted to me, which I find rather insane that it takes 5 to 7 days to program something. I’m a very technical person and a longtime car enthusiast sounds like a bunch of BS.

battery was replaced and vehicle has multiple communication codes. we need to update the gateway module, telematics control module, accessory protocol interface module, instrument panel cluster for sure at this point. other modules may need programming also. that is what tech has been working on. after all those systems have been updated, we may still need to change the generator module. we will not know that until the other modules are updated and talking to each other.
i will update ford to keep them in the loop
programming all these modules will take some time
nothing on the rear glass yet. i submitted photos for steering wheel concern. i will check on that status.
vehicle has been diagnosed as far as can be right now. tech did find a technical service bulletin, so we are starting down that process. last time we had a vehicle with these types of concerns, the vehicle was down for multiple days. may be looking at 5-7 days depending on how long the programming takes and if further programming and module replacement is necessary
yesterday the vehicle discharged a brand new battery in under 2 hours. we have it back to 100% and are still programming. the accessory protocol interface module(apim) refuses to take the updated program software. he has tried it 3 times already. it is currently running again. if it fails again we may need to replace that module. he did get 2 modules to accept programming and are updated.
i will get a further update from him “
