does the battery blanket cover the bottom and the sides or just the sides?
just the sides John and we did get it to fit the H7 platinum elite duralast battery. So the reason I didn’t get the H8 was it wasn’t available with the 5yr warranty although it had a 4yr. I figured if I have any more issues in that period they’ll replace the battery. So ??? I’m hoping I don’t regret not getting the h8.
but for the time being I can enjoy the beach ?️ Thanks again I also actually did have the neg cable out where you mentioned to put it so that.

Carl, yes a bad battery can cause all kinds of weird gremlins. I doubt it is causing your AC issue though, but maybe. There is an HVAC TSB for your year F150 to reprogram several modules. (technical service bulletin, not a recall, but it happens often enough that Ford puts out a TSB to tell their techs what to do). This would be covered under the original warranty period and also very likely by a Ford ESP warranty. Otherwise, you’d pay out of pocket for this. You could also buy ($575) or borrow a Mongoose cable, download FDRS (Ford Diagnostic Repair System), buy a two day license for $50, and buy a 12 V power supply and update these and all your other modules yourself.

here is the HVAC TSB that may solve your AC issue

here is the 1000+ page 16,000 post thread on this forum for doing FDRS updates:

You‘ll be just fine with the H7. Go enjoy the beach.

Put the negative of charger on the far end of the black negative wire that comes off of the battery where that wire connects to the truck chassis. That way you are outside the BMS sensor and it will sense that you’ve charged the battery.
Anecdotal account here, I did the BMS reset procedure (high beams 5x, brake pedal 3x), then after the battery icon stopped flashing I hooked up a 600w adjustable supply (set to 14v) while leaving the truck in accessory mode. It never gave the "Shutting down to save battery" alert even after 4 hours. Seemed happy after that. You'd expect the BMS to measure flow even with the truck off, but... maybe not?
