Hi all, I thought I would share my experience with this fault and see if it helps anyone.
Before I had this code actually come up I had a few eyebrow raising experiences, one being when I left my truck in generator mode, I would notice it was running the ICE longer than normal, sometimes I had to hit the gas pedal to get it to shut down. It's a hard thing to articulate but when using this truck and it's propower generator for a while, you really get a feeling of when and for how long the ICE will run to keep the battery charged. So when I say "eyebrow raising" it just seemed like something was up.
The other thing I noticed has to do with the electric driving capacity. During long trips up I-5 I often play around with getting as much out of the electric driving as possible, so cruising along behind the semi's or manually trying to stay in electric driving as long as possible (EV coach is key here) you get a feeling of how long you can stay in electric before the battery dies. I have noticed a slight decrease in how much energy I have to use while staying in electric driving.
All that led up to this code being thrown while my truck was in park on two occasions. the first time It cleared after full power off (open door, close door) the second time it was sitting in generator mode providing my hardworking ass some starlink internet so I can listen to tunes while I work in the field with no cell service. then it threw the same code. I power cycled to clear it and it came up again by the time I drove back to the house.
Time for ForScan.... I pulled the code and have attached the screenshot. With 500 miles left on my 100k warranty my next call was to the dealer, service advisor connected to my vehicle and saw the same thing I see I ForScan, his advice was park it and bring it in ASAP due to my warranty ending.
4 hours after dropping off at the dealer he calls me with approval from Ford to replace the entire battery under warranty, says the cost would have been ~ $7500.
I hope this information is helpful to someone, I'm guessing that this issue will revisit me in another 100k miles and I'll be visiting the nearest junkyard to pick up a salvaged battery for $1500 because there's no way I'm dropping $7500.. the wife wants to go back to Maui if I have that kind of money.
