Got my parts. Local dealer was only a couple dollars more than the best online prices after the shipping.... plus I used Ford Pass Points....so actually zero out of pocket money. Now just need to quit procrastinating about the crappy Ford programs right now and go get my truck....lol.....

Yes, and there lies the problem.... When Ford announced "employee pricing" they also tanked the finance and lease programs.

It "sounds" good as a marketing move. But it's not what it appears.

Lease residuals dropped from 64% to 56%. The lease "money factor" ( the "interest" rate on leases) is also higher. And they have terrible interest rates if you want to purchase. "Employee Pricing" works great for the consumer if the consumer can walk in a drop the purchase price in "cash" without financing......

@DD519 Just wanted to drop by to say thank you for the OG post.
Did it yesterday and all went well :)

Only thing that was not clear is which "hole" on the door body shall I use to push the cable of the keypad thru. Ultimately I went with the one number "3" in below picture (hard to see but basically the final opening/cavity at the shoulder trim level). At first number "2" looked as the logical place but I decided against it (maybe incorrectly).

Looks good! Just had this done at the dealer yesterday on my wife’s Explorer 2025. Never could get good information on the Explorer forum about activation being success via Forscsn. So we used points to help pay for it. Only other option was to buy a Mongoose device. Glad you got your going!

What was your parts and labor price before points? Just curious what they charge.

the part was like 125 or less delivered and the dealer charged 311 for the install and fdrs programming. It pretty much came to the same 455 that they were charging for this as a dealer add on when you special order. Since this vehicle was not a special order for us we did it this way. I most likely could have installed it but no one on the Explorer forum had success on a 25 programming via Forscan. The points used were 31k and it amounted to about 135 I believe.

Do you have to have the keypad installed before you can get the factory code. Tried multiple times to get it on my 25 and it didn't work

My understanding is if it comes from factory installed you get a card. If done at dealer you need two fobs to have the default permanent code display on center screen.

Yeah 25s don't have it so I ordered the parts. However using the 2 fob process didn't display code like it is supposed to. So wondering if keypad has to be installed or possibly installed and forscan updates done before truck will show code.

Needs to be installed then you get code. (Installed also means programed.)

I’d suggest plugging the keypad into the door panel and programming it on forscan first. After that it should have no problems displaying the factory code.
