Do you think I need the recalibrate 360 cameras?
Not if you have a 24'. I was confirmed a few weeks ago by 2 dealerships after they finally confirmed by Ford and Ford accessories. Ford told them to swap cameras but cannot calibrate. Said it is with specs. All of your camera views will be perfect. Your 360 overhead view parking lot lines will be a little off....they attempted months ago and never has been the same. Another dealership just attempted 2 weeks ago and no change. A member in here made the biggest improvement. But again, I should have left it alone. It's worse now. Hell can't even get my standard mirrors to look good..... And just to be clear this is only the overhead 360 view with the parking lot lines (stitching)

Waiting on something wiring and window switch to start working on the power folding and telescoping
Please let me know how that goes. I know some people have figured out the power fold on the standard mirrors, but not the tow mirrors. The dealership said I could just buy a wiring harness and the switch and I would be good to go. If I can just get power fold working I would be happy. It sounds like the wiring harnesses from the dealership are extremely expensive though. They also told me just to install the switch and the mirrors and see what happens. I found that interesting as well. But I doubt we would be that lucky.

And just to be clear when the parts department was looking up the wiring for me they said I definitely needed the wiring for the telescoping, but when it came to power fold he was wondering if the wiring was already there. So he told me to purchase the switch and the power fold mirrors and see what happens. I don't know if that includes programming. I remember years past power fold would work automatically but that was on my Lariat not an XLT.

Edit: unless you have a Lariat then you obviously don't need to worry about power fold. Mine is an XLT. I'm here in Michigan so this is a spring project for me.

Another member had the cameras recalibrated and it made it worse. He wishes he didn’t have them calibrated and wanted to undue the calibration. He had instructed me to not calibrate the cameras unless they need them. Mine are just a tad off, but nothing at all to be concerned with.

Morning all, I installed my tow mirrors and did the programming and one issue I am having is power fold. If I push the fold button both mirrors move about a 1/4 inch. Release the button and push again they move back the 1/4 inch to the out position.

Programmed PDM, DDM, BCM, and APIM.

So am I missing something that I am not thinking of?

Go change your fold value back. I played with this on @uapilot's truck.

2 here default, 3 works, 0 should auto fold (also needs APIM control enabled)

Thank you very much. This was the value I had to change and everything works. I think I read the spreadsheet as I needed to change this to a 1 but I now know that it needs to stay a 0.

Yes I confirm that the mirrors HammaMan put on are working perfectly and all we need to do now it get the auto fold to work and some calibration of the 360 cams as the parking line stitching is a little bit off. Useable but annoying when I’m being anal. Thanks Mike! So happy!

So I'm a FDRS virgin so where do I get this spreadsheet I've seen mentioned? Is it an actual spreadsheet or something else? I do have a cord on order and even bought a new windows laptop as I have a Mac. I'm trying to pick up on the established knowledge base on this for my XLT. Thanks Much!!

lol it is crazy the lengths that Ford is going through to save a dollar when spending 90k on a truck. Switched the camera and activated the parking lights on the tow mirrors. Everything works like it should even the camera being swapped from my stock mirrors to the tow mirrors worked like a charm. Should not have to get them recalibrated. Thank you OP and everyone for the recommendation. I was ready to return the tow mirrors.

Did you ever get the telescopic feature to work? Looks like you don’t have a plug for the button same as me.

The picture below is the best I've ever been able to get it after installing the tow mirrors. This is with Jesse flashing the ipma and me doing the forscan calibration a couple of times. There was no improvement after he flashed the ipma with me running the calibration.

Before Jesse I've had it to two different dealerships. He was able to get the most progress. The first dealership messed it up. The second dealership followed the manual to the t and even contacted Ford.......and they made it worse. I've been dealing with this calibration nonsense for almost a year now as I put tow mirrors on this truck almost immediately when I purchased it. I just ended up switching from manual to power.

My truck was built in April of 24. It came with standard mirrors with engineering letters ending in BB. When I purchased the used 25' Platinum tow mirrors they came with engineering number ending in BC. From that one change alone it straightened out the stitching. Before that the stitching wouldn't even be straight.

I'm still waiting to see somebody able to make this perfect. from everyone I have personally had involved I don't think it's possible. And like I mentioned 6 months ago body shops were dealing with this. Once the vehicle got into an accident and they changed the mirrors they couldn't fix the stitching.

I was messaging a member and he removed one of his mirrors and put it back and now it's messed up???

So I definitely don't want to put any more on Jesse's plate, but he's the only one that I have come in contact with that knows anything about how to make the stitching better. And just to be clear every other camera view and angle is absolutely flawless....

And since I've been dealing with this for so long you get over it..... I was very dependent on 360 view because this is now my third truck with it, but now I went back to using my mirrors. A little aggravating in tight spots but where it's at now I can live with it.

And just a really sum this up I have a picture from about 6 months ago from a brand new $90,000 Platinum that looked identical to this........

Edit: and just to be clear Jesse was extremely kind and even offered to spend more time on this, but I couldn't waste any more of his time.

....... And somebody on Facebook purchased cameras with the engineering number ending in BC.... They had BB like me and unlike me it doesn't work in his truck???

I just bought a 24 XLT and want to put tow mirrors. I thought you could buy them and easily swap as long as the truck had the tow haul package but looking like I can't buy tow mirrors with 360 camera support without doing some custom work. Is anyone aware if Ford plans to sell tow mirrors that support the cameras? Is this only a 24+ problem for now?
