Hi, does anyone with a 2024 PB have a rough transition from 1-3 when the truck goes from electric to hybrid. The rpm’s spike to 2.5-3 for a second and then settle in. I thought the 24 was supposed to have smoothed the transition out.

I have good days where I don't notice it and then I have days where is like "whoa". I feel like it happens less if I warm up the truck first. I'm not sure why exactly but it seems to help

The way your post is worded, are you specifically asking about if the truck does a 1-3 shift at the same time as engaging the ICE motor? If so I can imagine you would be able to feel something pretty easily. When the 10r80 does a 1-3 skip shift it's already more clunky so that mixed with the engine kicking back on could potentially be more jarring than normal.

Overall by truck has been pretty smooth though but I try not to baby it around either so I rarely skip gears and the ICE kicks on from a stop while still in 1st usually. The truck just generally seems happier if you aren't super conservative in your driving.

This exactly. When I am more aggressive with the throttle, the transmission shifts overall are smoother, and it shifts to second gear instead of the 1-3 skip from a stop. From a stop, the engine will start almost immediately as well, instead of starting off with the electric motor first.
If I drive like I have an egg under the gas pedal, it does the hated 1-3 skip, which makes the truck feel like it falls flat on its face. And the engine doesn’t start until the transmission is already out of first gear, which makes the transition from electric to hybrid mode way more noticeable.

My 23 PB is smooth shifting except when it's cold it clunks from 6th to 7th. Smooth again after a short while

How many miles are on the truck or were on it when you bought it? If it had more than 100-150 miles on it then the transmission may have developed an odd shift strategy from the various people driving it causing the harsh 1-3 shift issue. This can also happen at random with this slushbox for a multitude of reasons....

You can try clearing the transmission adaptive tables with Forscan then driving around normally on surface streets in performance mode for at least 100+ miles so it will learn the 1-2-3 shift pattern. After that you can put it back into normal mode for the rest of the relearn period (about 250 total miles). Hopefully it'll settle down after that.

Lastly when on surface streets try locking out 8-10 gears. Ford programmed this thing to get into the highest possible gear as quickly as it can, but this can lead to lugging and low speed pre-ignition. Doing this I get better mpg on surface streets and no more engine lugging.
