2024 F-150 Lariat Crew Cab
Back in February, we purchased a brand new 2024 F150 Lariat Crew Cab, fully loaded with a 5.0L V8. It originally had 26 miles during delivery. We bought it online and had it shipped to us in Alabama. The sales rep was nice, the finance department was nice, delivered as expected with no issues. Now it's May, and we put approximately 4600 miles on it, and we had to put it in the shop with our local Ford dealership. We left the house the other day and drove it a block, and EVERY ELECTRONIC alarm/sensor/light went off on it. Drove it back home and parked it, searched every forum/thread on similar issues, couldn't find anything. I was going to try to drive it to the dealership for repair, and couldn't even get it out of Park. I had to call a flatbed tow truck to come get it to take it to the dealership. My service representative just told me that the Ford Certified Tech said that every ELECTRONIC module is bad, and at this moment, he doesn't know why. We paid $77,000 for this truck, and it's in the shop for some unknown reason. We're worried that if they don't find out the REAL reason and "band-aid" it, it's never going to be the same. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Have you changed anything/installed anything or has it had an OTA update that you know of?

Just my thoughts...

I find it hard to believe ever module is toast. There had to be one hell of a voltage spike to wipe them all out. TCU or GWM bad, there for no commutation between modules I can understand. With the number of members with PB on here, nobody has ever posted that ever module has gone bad all at once.

IMO..... I would seriously consider taking it to a different dealer.

I suspect this will be hard for the average dealership to fix without Ford corporate technical expertise.

You may be out of the truck for months. You should get familiar with the Lemon Laws in your state. Then keep copious notes, pictures, receipts, etc.

The biggest problem all late model cars have is wiring harnesses, primarily connectors. I have experienced serious connector problems going back to my 1990 SHO dying at speed, at idle, or whenever it felt like it. Sure enough it was the main harness that plugged into the BCM with a slightly bent pin. In fact, I instruct my dealers and/or private mechanics to replace the connector with any plug-in parts they install.

Good luck being Detroit's test bed. It is not just Ford.

I contacted the actual dealer (in TX) that we bought it from. They were more helpful and suggested I open a case with Ford so that it would be documented.

The TX dealership Service Rep actually had a "technical suggestion". They said that it may be the electronic module in the shifter. It's a center console shifter. They said that since all the electronics "talk to each other", if one goes, then it's like a domino effect.

I think it is more like chess. There must be a strategy.
