As far as we know, there should be no constraints or issues with your build It will be send for a quality check after so it could delay your build a week or two, but that just depends on how quickly but correctly they can go!

Should have no issues though! Also, completely understandable! I would be anxious too!!

I captured a screenshot of the change ... the plate attached to the truck will be different, allowing one to secure a strap directly to the plate, and the 'old' plate will be included with the truck in case you want to switch back it...however, the removable cleat will then become an accessory you must purchase if you want to use the 'old' plate.

But most of us who ordered Platinum's will not get built until late July 2024, if not until August. F150 line shuts down the first two weeks in July.

It would seem like you might as well just wait to order a 2025 at this point.

I was thinking the same this morning. Not sure when you can order a 2025. But if anyone who has been waiting around, would probably be in the same spot next year at this time.

Just by seeing the picture, I'm happy with the old plate and cleat. I install mine as soon as I get the truck and use them frequently. I have a variety of "motorcycle straps" with both ratcheting and none-ratcheting as well as I'll even carry a roll of twine. I especially like the current/old style of tie down cleat because it has rounded edges and won't cut or fray the twine and the eyelets are the perfect size for the hook on my straps. The new plate with optional cleats looks like another area where Ford is cutting costs.
I'm sure if you really wanted the old cleats, Amazon will have them and they'll likely be made by the same manufacturer in China that Ford uses for the removable cleat.

Agreed on all points, and I use mine in the same manner...and definitely speaks to Ford cost-cutting vs improvement for the customer...

If someone purchases a box-link product, they could provide however many box-link plates (and cleats to go with it) are needed to use on said plates when the accessory is not in use (so you don't have to switch plates back and forth).

To make changes, any change in the middle of a production cycle or production year is very odd to me. The bed cleat is a very simple change and obviously isn't big enough to make it a Job specific change but still, this is a fairly simple but big impact change for those that use their trucks as trucks. I don't even fall into that category as a daily user. As a weekend Home Depot warrior and flee market or roadside stop buyer though, I use the hell out of those cleats. It just seems odd to change something like that in the middle of the production cycle.

Wow. Not sure what to think I ordered in September of last year still haven't been scheduled. People that have ordered just a week ago are getting scheduled. Starting to doubt my dealer.

I don't think its your dealer unless its an allocation issue based on what you ordered. I ordered on 12/4 and just got scheduled and after talking to my dealer he said most of his Lariat retail orders were scheduled yesterday regardless of when they were ordered.
