2024 3.5 Ecoboost engine cover?

Good morning everyone. Forgive me, I am probably way late to the party on this, but why did Ford do away with engine covers on the F-150? Would a 2023 Engine Cover still fit onto a 2024 ecoboost engine. In my limited knowledge i think they would. I don’t believe Ford changed the engine. I just feel like an engine cover is good added protection. Unless it was making the engine run hotter, which I could see.

2023 is when the engine cover started getting deleted. Threads already on this

21+ engine covers fit but needs the hardware to retain it. I've removed mine

You’re good. You can add it if you like. The mounting points are there. You just need to pick up a cover at an auto recycling joint or ordered it off of somewhere like Tasco

Cost cutting only ... the cover is good for keeping the noises down as overhead cam/valve engines and direct/port injectors tend to be noisy (clicking) - plus it hides some of the honestly ugly wiring that Ford has in, on and around their engines ...

Indeed, 10 of 10 rodents polled prefer the engine cover which seems to be made of only the most desirable of rodent den materials.

And since they are already feasting on the delicious engine cover, you might find they just can't resist nibbling on the foam firewall insulation adjacent.

I have no experience with the 3.5 EB. I have removed the engine cover on my 2004 Pontiac GTO. The engine ran cooler and extended the life of the individual spark plug ignition coils which run 15 degrees cooler.
