Hey All,

Will be finally pulling the trigger on a new truck after years of holding off. Timeline is closer to the summer time but trying to get an idea on realistic pricing. Planning on a 2024 or 2025 (depends on availability late spring early summer) XL 101A SuperCrew 2wd with just the 5.0 and locking rear end options. These have more than my '04 XLT and '07 Mustang GT premium lol.

These are basically work trucks and I see them locally at most dealers as I outlined above. With a MSRP of 48-49k, They are listed on the typical car search websites at $41-43,000. Perfect for my intentions and good platform for the few changes I'd make.

I understand how the game works where they list every impossible discount. But is a $41-42,000 range reasonable and what you'd target if you were buying this configuration? Just trying to be realistic. An example is below from a local dealer

For reference, I got my 2024 stx 4x4 for under 40k end of the year with a sticker of 52k. But mine does not have the 5.0 or locking rear end. I wouldn’t pay the listed price. The 25s are coming out and they will be discounting the 24s even more.

Thank you for that insight - sounds like a great deal! I will keep an eye on the inventory and hopefully there will be some of these 24s still on the lot later in the year. I'm already seeing 25s hitting the dealers around me area.

Just figured I would update this. I was able to sign for my new truck today. The advertised price was their true discounted price which I was happy to see. For a base model truck with practically no options you're not going to have the margin for the insane heavy discounts like an XLT. I was where I wanted to be and they didn't put up a fight at all. Very pleasant experience at Mark Ficken Ford.

They were adamant about the rebates not being able to be paired with the special financing. I remember this from family purchases as well as my only other new vehicle purchase 10 years ago. You had to pick. Regardless, I have excellent credit so my rate was only a tiny smidge above what the Ford special financing would have been anyways. So it truly was a wash for financing and I got a way better deal by taking the rebates.

Got a spray in thrown in for no charge. I can't wait to pick it up! The 5.0 power is hard for me to comprehend and the features are unreal for a base model truck. To get a 400 horsepower crew cab two-wheel drive truck with full power options and the modern amenities, is pretty hard to sneeze at in this environment for very low $40s in my book.
