Seriously? I can get adaptive cruise control with lane centering for $300 and some DIY effort?! Wow. I figured there’d be another zero to that upgrade.

Updating an old thread.

It's time to move on from my GMC. It never spent a night at the service dept. Oil changes, tire rotations and a software update.

I'll be honest. There are some 6.2l engine failures happening. That wouldn't be terrible if they would have replacement engine availability. GM doesn't and if you have anengine go south, the truck could sit for more than a month. Not good.

Not enough to chase me from another GMC though. I didn't want another Ultimate so I ordered a Denali Reserve with Supercruise again. This one will have the 3.0l LZO baby Duramax. My sub neighbor and marina neighbor both have the 3.0l and love it 27-30 mpg on the highway and I'll save a little per gallon compared to the premium I burn in the 6.2l.

I considered the new Ram but it's more than the GMC and doesn't have anything that compares to Supercruise. Also the new twin turbo is creating lots CEL complaints. Don't need that. And, I'm sold on the Google based infotainment system.

Anyway it's been over 2 years with the truck and it didn't disappoint.

You could get oil analysis done occasionally instead of preemptively getting rid of a truck you like.

Congrats, that is a really good looking truck and that interior looks impressive.

I suppose I could but not sure it would help because GM isn't going to do any warranty work based on oil analysis. So still at the mercy of an actual failure. And, I'm ready for that truck new smell. ;)

True, I meant so you could see an impending failure and trade it.

Replacement arrived a week and a half ago. I'm typically not a hand calculator for mpg but I did with my first fill up. I didn't need to but I was going by the cheapest diesel fuel near me. 265 miles. 10.9 gallons. 24.3 mpg. That was mostly on service roads. Maybe 15 miles on an interstate. Other than the engine, the truck is identical to my 2023. Edit... I did go with painted flairs this time. That's how happy I was with it.

I'm still lurking around but I too left Ford and went back to GM....though somewhat not by choice.

'22 Silverado LTD 1500 LTZ Z71 with the LM2 Duramax.

F150 interior is nicer, seats more comfortable, pano roof, and Forscan.

Chevy blows the Ford away on MPG (25 around town, 29 on the road), and because I got a "pre-refresh" model, I was able to avoid some of the stupid safety stuff. I can open the door to spot the boat trailer and not have the truck slam itself into Park and refuse to move.....

Shoulda got "Pro Grade". You would have been happier with the interior. ? That’s a SierraHarley "funny"

The F150 guys won't understand.

By the way, I don't miss that pano roof at all. I've never had any rattles that my pano roofs had.

I drove a couple of "refresh" models with the new interior. Between the safety sensors and the stupid shifter that has a button to put it in Park I passed. It's one reason why I would never consider a truck with a knob to shift gears. (Here's looking at you - Ram)

Made a trip downriver for a grad party last weekend with the new diesel. Yes I was under the Google speed limit but I was coming out of a construction zone. (Michigan orange barrel season) and6i was bumping the Supercruise back up when I took the picture. That is nearly the highest I've gotten so far. Typically I'm getting 31ish on the interstate. This particular trip had about 10 surface street miles.

If your pano roof was rattling that's a sign that you need to lubricate your seals. The panoroof requires maintenance, too.

Mine seemed to be the shade. Close and retract and it would go away for a while. I could have taken it in for a dealer look see but I was over the truck sitting at the dealer while they were guessing at how to fix the "stop safely now" problem.

I have never had the rattle or any other problems with my pano.

Cleaned and lubed the seals about a year and a half in and then a bit over 3 years in. Probably should do it more frequently but this krytox stuff is pretty resilient. I just went to wipe down and re-apply for the 2nd time and it looked like it had just been applied. Still good at least to wipe away the gunk that builds up on there. Makes me wonder what they use from factory, whether this stuff is more durable and maybe half the battle is doing the tsb even once and getting a layer of something on there that can last years.
