noticed yesterday when i started up the truck. it definitely sounded different than before, i thought there was something wrong with the truck, but didn't see any warning lights on the instrumental cluster. i really hope this is something due to a recent OTA update, and nothing more. anyone else noticed this?

after some googling, signs point to low or faulty battery, can anyone chime in on this? (no pun intended). i drive the truck about once a week for about 20 mins.

Can’t really help, but my 23 has done this since I bought it. About 98% of the time it’s the old chimes coming through the cluster, even after having replaced the battery. My guess is either a loose connector on APIM/DSP or a bug in the software somewhere.

Sound coming through IPC isn't a bug, it's an indicator your 12v system is weak. There are other things that occur as well.

after researching all morning, all signs point to low battery level for the 12v. i also noticed the same low battery, need to drive warning on my Ford Pass app. during lunch, i took it to the freeway and revved up the engine with AC on full blast. drove for about 15 minutes, shut down the truck and restarted it, guess what, the chime went back to normal. i will take it in to have the dealer check it anyway. thinking about disconnect my dashcam, probably not the cause of these issues, but just to rule it out.

Just need the HVAC blower on setting 5 to ignore the BMS. This works for me on 2 different fords. I'll order the parts to try and make a BMS fooler so the truck always thinks the battery is slightly lower than it is. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. I'd love to find a specific v.sense wire to manipulate.

does it matter if the truck has to be driven when the hvac blower is on at 5? can i park it there with hvac on? it's too cold to sit in the car with that kind of settings.

You don't need the AC on at all. Just set the blower to 5 and adjust vents / temp to desire. I keep both upper and lower vents on. You can check this behavior with a voltmeter.

For the powerboost at least, the conditions are...
vehicle "on/run"
key inside of the vehicle
driver's door closed with HVAC blower on setting 5.

Basically I leave the blower on setting 5 in both vehicles continually and my little bit of driving keeps them happy. Remote start = no charging for the most part. Not like the above procedure does due to the voltage.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your F-150 concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

It's what controls how much charge the battery has by adjusting the voltage of the DC generation source like an alternator. When the blower is set to setting 5 under normal operating conditions for some reason it over-rides the BMS's voltage request and adds another volt or so.

Sounds similar to my experience. Maybe some helpful info in here for you: https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...ash-speaker-is-this-normal.15432/#post-325213

update on this:

i dropped the truck with dealership last Friday, they said the battery checked out fine, so they didn't replace it, but they did reset the APIM. service advisor also mentioned the warning sign i saw on my FordPass was normal, whenever you see that warning, just drive the truck, then it'll go away (his exact words) LOL
