2023 F150 Lariat Powerboost FX4
Posting here in case someone else could use the info.
I have a 2023 F150 Lariat Powerboost with FX4.
Not all leveling kits will work with thr extra weight of the hybrid power train.

I installed Bilstein 6112 coilovers and 5160 rear shocks from ShockSurplus. The coil overs seem to be back ordered quite often so I had to wait a few weeks until were in stock. They sell a complete coilover so you don’t have to swap out your stock spring to the new damper. Went with Bilstein for the larger damper body size compared to the Fox 2.0. Circlip is set to the max setting which results in about a 1.8” lift with the Powerboost. Just under 0.5” of rake after the kit was installed.

I then fit a set of Method MR703 Beadgrip wheels in Titanium (17x8.5) with 0mm offset paired with LT285/75r15 BFG KO3s. Tires are 33.8” No rub at full lock while level. Tread just kisses the front crash bar when fully articulated and flexed.
The tread is just about flush with the fender but the sidewall pokes out for a conservative stance.

I corrected the tire size with Forscan so the gauges show accurately.

Let me know if you have questions about the setup.

Oh man, that is clean! Gonna need a cold shower now... heh

Thanks for the write up and review, I'm looking to do the same suspension when time and budget allows. Would you mind talking a little about how the suspension change affected the ride? how is the steering and body roll? How are the bumps compared to the FX4 package?

Thanks!

the Bilsteins have digressive valving so the initial small bump compliance on the road is harsher than the FX4 suspension. The off road damping however is much better than stock. G-outs and washboard roads feel pretty comfortable. It was leveled for about two weeks before I put the tires and wheels on and the firmer ride was noticeable on OEM rubber. The E load KO3s didn’t seem to add any more stiffness. Body roll seems the same to me.
I have not done an alignment yet, but steering is centered, doesn’t pull.

looking good, have you noticed any noticeable drop in gas mileage after the upgrade?

Yes, about 2-3 mpg. More than I expected honestly.

Any chance you can post a pic of the front wheel from the backside? I'd like to see how much clearance you have around the brakes. I've got the same lift in a very similar truck, but haven't swapped the wheels from stock... maybe when the next set of tires are due.

I just came from a 2019 Ranger that I leveled and put 32s on with Fuel rims. I bought rims so that the stance would be wider and it helped with body roll. But what it didn't help, the tires throwing all kinds of things at the paint since they stuck out so much. This time around I plan on avoiding that issue. Do you have that issue with the little bit of sidewall that sticks out?

I am looking at doing a similar set up on my PB, what fuel economy are you getting with the 285's?

I haven’t had any problems with rock chips.

I tow frequently so overall MPG is hard to say.
Towing: 10.5-12.5 MPG with 5000 lb utility trailer
Around town: 16-18 mpg
Highway: 18-20 mpg

I noticed a drop in mileage with just the leveling kit even before I put the tires and wheels on.
If you bought a powerboost for the fuel economy don’t even think about lift kits or tires.

Okay thanks for the info, Yeah no the truck is not an economy truck at all. I only care about economy from a range stand point. Even with its less than stellar economy, I am still doing better than my last truck.

Still happy with the wheel / tire setup?

I have the same suspension mods and will soon be due for new rubber.. I've been running an almost 34.7 inch Maxxis razr with spacers on stock sport 20s; I'm looking to ditch the spacers and some weight / efficiency loss. My current setup gives me a steady 16-17 mpg; I think the maxxis tires are 66 lbs, and there seem to be similar but lighter options at this size.. I would love to get a little efficiency back
