2021 Poweboost Melted Battery

I have a 2021 powerboost with a melted battery junction box and fuse. Been at ford dealer since March 2024, anybody else have same issue. It did the whole triangle display pull over safely thing on me. Ford doesn't know what to do to fix it.

Good afternoon. Could you please send over a message with your VIN and the name/location of the Ford dealer you have been working with? I would like to take a closer look at this issue on my end.

Sounds like a very possible direct short to ground. Pretty simple to locate if they just take the time to inspect the harness. Could also just have been a faulty junction box. Either way replacing the damaged parts and a little time with an Ohm meter to see if the supply lines are shorted and locate the issue is really all they need to do.

But with dealers paying dirt salaries to their techs these days it's no real surprise that they are clueless. All the good mechanics have long since moved on leaving the bottom of the barrel techs at the dealers.

At dealership since March?

The HVJB is a component included inside the battery enclosure itself. It's an assembly. On a Powerboost, I would assume they just swap the whole assembly out.

I can't for the life of me figure out why the truck would just sit?
And at this point why Ford wouldn't have fixed it or bought it back.

I would do everything to pursue that with so long of a delay.
