2021 Lariat rear left headliner rattle

Well, the usual Ford ‘quality built tough’ gremlins have surfaced around 7,000km. Shocking! haha anyhow …

I have a rattle coming from my ‘21 Lariat with the panoramic sunroof I tracked down to being in the rear beweetn the coat hanger hook and the rear window behind the drivers side in the roof / headliner. Almost sounds like a wire worked it’s way loose and slaps around in there.

How difficult is the headliner removal on the truck? Anyone else have this issue? Drives me nuts on bumpy roads

Hate to revive a 13 month-old thread, but I recently started hearing a muted thud/clunk over road imperfections, and I'm almost certain it's coming from the headliner in the same area you described. Was your noise similar or more like a standard rattle? Did you ever figure yours out?

I'm having this as well but it seems closer to right above the the driver's head near the B&O speaker. If I pull down lightly on the headliner I can get it to stop.

I would bring it to a dealer since it’s very easy to mess up a headliner with all the clips and foam up there one wrong move and you’ll have a divot or sag

Just came in to say that I have the same issue. I "think" i traced mine to the left rear garment hook. It seemed loose when I tried moving it with my fingers. dealer has removed the hook and am waiting for the new hook to come in. Will update when it gets installed.

It seems like there is a retention nut behind there so when the hook is loose the nut can rattle around causing that headliner area noise.

I had my headliner fixed today. I had a rattle over driver side next to sun roof. 21 Lariat. If I pushed up in the liner the rattle would stop. Dealer said a bracket that holds a magnet came loose. No idea if this is true but very happy to report rattle is gone. Also had them do the TSB to stop rear window rattle from sub. That was also starting to drive me crazy.

I need them to do the window rattle from the sub, but I fixed this same rattle over my head on my own.
