Well, not so good I am sadden to report.

Received the truck back with new engine, and intake on February 3rd. Three day's shy of one month driving a loaner vehicle.

On February 4th, Engine light on indicating malfunctions with Powertrain, several other ABS codes. etc.... February 5th (Saturday), all appeared to reset for I did not see a check engine light.

February 6th took it to the dealer first thing in the morning. Service advisor indicated I should closely monitor. Well, I did. No check engine for two weeks even though I felt rough idling/misfiring while at stop lights.. At this point, I am thinking this is normal for a 21 F150.

On February 19, and 20th I experienced yet again several malfunctions, app showing several codes as it relates to the powertrain, ABS system. I witnessed rough idle, and truck on two occasions went into "limp mode" on the 19th while driving.

February 21st, at the dealer all day. Unable to determine underlying issue I guess, dealer contacted Ford and I believe is still waiting for a response so they say. Cleared codes on February 21st, and gave my truck back to me with the understanding they were waiting for Ford's response. They could not keep the truck for they did not have any loaner vehicles available to me.

Today (February 24th, 2022), well, Another check engine light on, powertrain module, limp mode. I limped the truck back to the dealer and left it. Today they were able to give me a loaner. We shall wait and see what is next.

I have lost all faith in the dependability of this truck at this point. Totally defeated.

I know this is a 3.5L thread but I was at a stoplight right now in my 2021 5.0l and truck shuddered and then I noticed the oil pressure was down and then came back up I was still stopped so it wasn’t from engine shutting off then turning back on. This is my first Ford just bought the truck 3 days ago used with $27,000 miles from a dealership other than this I love it. Was also while cold as well I sat in driveway for about 5 minutes before driving off so wasn’t like it hadn’t warmed up a bit. What do you all think ?

Hi there, Pedro. This engine shudder concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Ford F-150. Could you please send us a DM with your VIN and dealership information? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end.

On my 3rd 3.5 eco, I'd say it's somewhat random and a characteristic of the engine. My 2022 doesn't do it, yet.......
But I expect with time it will.

Alright guys, first time Ford owner, first f150 owner. Just bought a 2021 leadfoot grey super crew, 4x4, shortbed, sport.
Love every single aspect of this truck. From the drive to the loooks. But for the love of god, the idle is not pleasant. No codes, no lights, but the truck has a shudder on idle when cold. Once in drive, truck drives great, 22mpg on the highway doing 75MPH. No issues, so I think a misfire is out of the question. Anyone have any suggestions other than spark plugs and a dealership? Is this normal? It’s not “body” vibration. But it’s let’s you know a motor is running with a seat vibration every couple seconds. Is this normal? Oil is clear, and at proper level. Truck is flawless other then the idle. Been searching the forums for weeks but no resolve.
Yep. Mine too. I just bought a 2022 3.5L. Same problem. Mine has 3K miles. It has not gone away. Really disappointed. It’s bad to be on idle and feel that vibration in the cabin. It will not go away. I wouldn’t recommend the 3.5 eco to anyone. I hate this truck already. Wish I would have read all this before buying this 3.5 EB. Apparently this is a known issue from Ford. We have been scammed. We need a class action lawsuit.

Whatsup man. I’m not in here much as I upgraded to a raptor, but after 4 ecoboost 3.5’ and now a new Gen 3 raptor, this seems to be a characteristic of this engine. Especially one with auto start/stop removed. Apparently it’s timing/fuel pulse related to save on gas while at a stop, hence the very low idle (500-600RPMS).
Some have seen it bet better with different oil viscosity’s. Just trying to out you at ease.

my 21 3.5 has done this since day 1. It will shake the doors if they are open and idling the tach will rise and fall. You can feel it the seat and pedals, besides the apim recall that needs to be addressed and a transfer case replacement truck runs great besides the idle makes it feel like it is about to explode. Just picked up my MY22, pretty much same build as my MY21 and it is very smooth. The MY21 is my 4th aluminum body and the idle is almost embarrassing. My MY22 is my 5th aluminum body and it feels like it should be just right.

My wife took the MY21 and I hope she is OK with the idle issue. For a 60K truck it should not feel like it misfires at idle.

both my 2019 3.5 and my 2023 powerboost with less than 800 miles has done this since new when running at idle. I'm sure it's just a characteristic of the engine.
