Sorry if this question has been answered previously but it took 6 weeks to get a vin number, how long does it usually take to get a production date after receiving a vin?

originally the dealer told me I’d have the truck 12-16 weeks after the order but I don’t have any confidence in that time frame.

I’m in week 15 and my ETA is 7/30.

How far after getting a vin did you get that date?
I got my vin a week after the order was accepted. Then it was 6 weeks later that I got a first blend date of week of 6/7. Then it got bumped out 4 weeks because KC shut down.

I didn’t get a new blend date (7/7) until 6/29. My window sticker appeared later that same evening.

The truck went to “In Production” status on 7/7 and was built on 7/8. It still shows “In Production” and not Built - presumably because it went off site for the spray in liner and tonneau cover and wasn’t technically completed.

But my ETA end date shows 7/30 right now. I hope that means it got built and through the gates before KC shut down yet another time. ?

Good luck! My truck will also be from the Kansas plant but I don’t think I will see it before September

We've all been seeing some quick builds among these most recent orders. Perhaps you'll be next!

We are in far from normal times right now. So what usually happened a couple of years ago (even last year) means absolutely NOTHING today.

When I ordered my '19 Lariat, I had a Vin# and build week the day after my order was submitted. Fast-forward to the past almost month. My XLT Sport FX4 order went in on 6/16 and it's been Unsheduled Clean Priority 10 since June 16th. This afternoon (about 5 hours ago) my order is now Unscheduled Clean Priority 02

My Tremor Order (submitted 6/18) is still Unscheduled Clean Priority 12

My XLT is a Kansas City Truck (Space White). Hopefully even with the down weeks, we will continue to see progress ??. I was surprised to see any action on that one today.

And just like that, another shutdown at KC delays mine again. ETA just updated to 8/12.

I'm starting you wish I'd never ordered it in the first place. ?

Well, the saga continues (Vin 1FTFW1E87MFB55161). As a recap, I ordered 12/02/2020, received VIN number in 04/21', truck was built last week of 05/21' and is currently being shipped. I had high hopes of having it by the end of this month (06/21') however my delivery date shows 07/11/2021. Here's the latest goofy part; The final landing place for the truck is central ND. Truck gets built in Dearborn MI (1183 miles by car east of ND), gets loaded on rail, passes through ND & MT and is now sitting in Wenatchee, WA; 1101 miles west of ND! You read that right, it has traveled almost 2,300 miles, passed within 100 miles of the final destination and is sitting almost as far away as when it was built. Who the hell organized those logistics! It should've been offloaded at the Minneapolis/St. Paul ramp. You can't even make this stuff up.
Well, finally this should be the last update, truck arrived in Williston, ND on Tuesday June 22nd. I had the front of the hood covered with 3M clear paint protectant film to avoid chips due to all the gravel I tend to drive, splash guards installed, and some weathertech floor liners installed. With those additions I took delivery on Wednesday June 30th so basically 7 month from the day I placed the order to the day I took delivery.

The truck is very nice, drives well, and I am generally impressed with it overall. I do have some factory shipped issues that my dealer is taking care of at my next scheduled appointment and there have been a few unknowns that weren't well described in the packages when I ordered it. It's mostly what I expected and more. After driving it for the past two weeks I am now regreting not ordering the Co-Pilot360 active 2.0 package and the 360 camera package. Seeing how well the co-pilot 360 assist package works, the active package with blueCruise when released would've been really nice! The two big issues that the dealer is going to fix; there several areas of overspray from the "Factory" Installed bed liner. Areas on the driver side rear door, driver side step bars, driver side rear rim, back top of cab, passenger side rear of cab, passenger side step bar along with a few specs on the box sides. My dealer expected they would clay-bar/remove the overspray and they would just do the entire truck. The cab mounted brake lens / light was also cracked which looked to be from over tightening at the factory.

So that brings my ordering sequence to the end, thanks for all the information along the way. I wish those that ordered luck that they get their trucks quicker than I did. As a side note, my dealer said they had one customer waiting longer than I had who still hadn't received his truck ordered in Oct!

I was hoping to order the exact same color combination as you (antimatter blue, two-tone paint) and was trying to see if you had any photos....but it looks like you still don't have the truck? When did you order? I won't lie, it makes me nervous about ordering this week.
