You can hit the radio button itself, not the start button, and get longer run time than you get with full accessory mode.

"Radio without ignition switch" in APIM should be enabled.
You can increase the time for longer than 30 minutes on setting right below that if you think your battery can handle it.

Haven't tested increasing time but I have used the radio button to just listen to radio. It will drain battery because a lot of other things are powered on with radio, the DSP and subwoofer if you have B&O for example.

If you were sitting with full accessory on using start button and it times out then you can't use the radio only option until after truck has been started up.

Hi everybody. I was looking for some assistance before I break down and take my truck in for service. I had made the modifications to enable the unreal theme as well as having the climate show on the bottom of the screen. I received an over-the-air update In May and since that time my built-in navigation stopped working and SiriusXM has stopped working, the phone selection screen is very jumbled. Additionally the speed recognition cruise control is no longer working. There is a DTC on the IPMA.

To try and fix the problem, I have tried to reset all of the modules which temporarily cleared the DTC. However, after some time it returned. I have also tried restoring my APIM from the backup I made prior to making changes. Nothing that I do seems to fix the issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Search for thread “No GPS signal after APIM update”. Start at post #38 by @elaudermilk. There were some changes in the APIM that they suggested that worked for others and may work for you as well. The issue you’re having sounds very similar to theirs. After making the changes in Forscan I’d recommend doing a module reset on the APIM.

Use the easy mode.
Look under "radio without ignition switch" you'll see one setting to turn on, should be on, and another for the time limit.

I can post screenshot later I'm about to go for a drive to test some Forscan work.

Disregard that was older generation trucks.

I can 100% confirm that at least on my truck the radio power button will turn on radio only for about 30 minutes.
This is no touching the start button at all.

Using brake light for turn signal for anyone curious how that looks.
Could also just turn off the amber turn signal completely and use only the brake light for turn and brake.

Looks weird but nothing illegal about it.

Can't use amber for brakes obviously.

This is just temporary, I needed picture of my old lights I'll be selling soon.

This setting is in our sync version too, called extended play on the excel file under APIM tab.
I think address is different than video but you can see end of video turning radio on and it will play for whatever you set the timer to without hitting start button.

Forscan BLIS modules.

Just in case you need to replace or program them.

This is documented on the Forscan forums, and it is same for our trucks as other Ford models.

Fill in VIN number as hexidecimal values.
Last digits are the checksum as usual so ignore those.

Example (fake) VIN
1FTEW1EP1MAD74406

as hexidecimal values (used text to hex website converter)

There might be more to change elsewhere in other modules, but this will get the truck to accept the module without using FDRS. It should make the truck happy and stop showing bunch of errors on the dash.

Addresses are not the same values for each side, but the values you enter will be the same (your VIN).

With the help of @jflottawa, had many of the common forscan upgrades done to my truck (60% drl, double honk Elim, Bambi mode, 75yr screen, unreal engine, climate bar, oil life in setting). Wasn't sure about climate bar but have come to really like it. Not sure why it isn't the std offering.

Ok my question is adding heated seat controls to the climate bar. The spreadsheet appears to say use A for heated AND cooled seats. What if you only have heated seats. Does "A" still work or is something else required? Sorry for potentially a stupid question.

Tried the oil life, works exactly same as the gauge menu option so don't see the point. I was really hoping it would allow setting a percentage under 100% like my old truck.
Not sure what unreal does I thought that was buggy?

Yes same as gauge, it's just nice to have it without having to go deep into the gauge menu.

Unreal engine provides a slightly different look with higher resolution (truck has to be updated to a certain point to have the option). It is subtle but I like it especially with the climate bar. u have to have the unreal engine to get the climate bar (others haven't liked the climate bar as it eliminates menu bar). Having options are nice that way.

Many thanks to the people on this forum who have "cracked" the code to allow the options from which we can pick based on personal preference.

I did the front camera always on programming. The result wasn't what I expected. This only works in the off-road modes and there's off-road tire tracks superimposed on the picture. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I didn't need it anyways, but gosh darn I have it now. Cool beans. I also added hill descent and rock crawl. Didn't need that either, but who doesn't like more capability?

Huge shout out to you guys for putting this together, i added global windows and rock crawl mode to my lowly 301A yesterday. Awesome to get access to options without forking out major $$!!!!!!

Tried to enable Ford Pro Hitch assist on my 2021 302A F-150, and did not whent well. The info appear briefly and have an error message saying unable to activate Hitch assist, read manual. Came back to OEM data... and now, my Ford Sync Nav stay in MPH instead of KMH. Took my time and made it carefully, not the first mode I did with Forscan. Will try to come back again in KMH this weekeed. Hope I will be able.

On your sync screen under settings you can change between MPH and KPH. This is separate from the setting on your dash gauges. I think it's under vehicle settings but might be under general. Nav has another set of settings when you have that open. I don't recall a setting for it there but you can look.

I think you have to have Active Park Assist for the Hitch Assist to work.
