I have a 2019 f150 5.0L 4WD with a 5.5’ bed. I want to do a fuel tank upgrade since i have a 23 gallon tank. I know i can upgrade to the 36 gallon if i just get the tank and the pump but I’m all about getting more for you money and was curious if anyone found a bigger tank than the 36 gallon that would fit without throwing a tank in the bed. Any help is appreciated

I dont know about a bigger than 36 gal tank. But I can vouch that the 36 gal tank on my 23 is awesome. I can tow my travel trailer getting 11 ish mpg as long as I want. Im never forced to stop for fuel. I choose where to stop for fuel and usually stop to pee and get coffee and get gas when I do. So convenient.

Even convenient when not towing. It seemingly never needs gas when putzing around empty

Thank you i appreciate it. I’m thinking the 36 is my only option. I do need to get a different fuel pump though correct. I believe the one i need is longer than the one in my 23 gallon

I've done this on my 2023, lots of people on f150forum.com have done it on their 13th gen.

You need a new fuel pump, they are also different based on motor type and fuel tank capacity. So get the 5.0L pump for a 36gal tank.
All of the 36gal tanks 15-23 are the same, so any of those will fit.

Forscan will be the hardest part, on the 21+ I believe it requires a PCM update.. which I haven't been able to do. You can swap to IPC calculations, but it's not 100% accurate.

I think the 15-19 model trucks have a better ForScan situation than 14th gens.
