Lately I've been getting a flare/delay on the 4-5 upshift first thing in the morning after parking my truck overnight for example. This issue completely goes away when the transmission is up to operating temp. Has anyone else had this issue? Transmission fluid looks good and is at the correct level. It's a 2023 f150 and the build date is August 2023.

Did it ever cause any long term issues?

Did you recently have an OTA update? If it had an update that recalibrated the PCM it can sometimes take up to a few weeks to relearn shifting.

I have not, but from my understanding arent the adaptive tables not used until the transfer is warm?

Sounds like your F150 is giving you a bit of a cold start surprise! If the flare and delay on the 4-5 upshift only happens when the truck’s cold and clears up when it warms up, it might just be an issue with the transmission fluid's viscosity in the cooler temperatures. Sometimes, new trucks like yours need a bit of a break-in period, and things might smooth out as the miles pile on.

Another possibility is that the transmission might have a software update pending. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates to tweak how the transmission shifts. It wouldn’t hurt to check with your dealer to see if there's any update available for your truck.

If the fluid's fine and it’s just a morning quirk that goes away, it’s probably not a huge deal, but keeping an eye on it and mentioning it during your next service visit might be a good call.

There is an OTA update scheduled for tomorrow on my truck. Funny enough this morning the 4-5 upshift wasn't that bad.

Hopefully the OTA doesn't wipe out the adaptive tables!
