I have nothing to back up this claim, but I'm wondering if it's possible that the "built" dearborn builds that have taken forever to ship actually went back in the plant to have the axles painted. I don't have my truck yet, but it looks like the rusty axles are mostly a thing of the past now.
I hope so no one wants a brand new vehicle with a rust differential/axle.

Whole lot of them were delivered that way though......
Also part of my email to my salesman yesterday cause he had called me when they originally thought it shipped and said that they wouldn’t install any of the extras (wheel liners, side window deflector, line-x) until I had picked it up and then I would have to bring it back for that. I emailed and said I will not be picking it up until that is done since most of them could be bought from ford direct but they said it would slow it down. I had also said when I signed the deal I wouldn’t pick it up till that’s done and they didn’t say anything about that then. And gave them 3 reasons why I wouldn’t take it and one was damage not caught in inspection and that I expect rust on the diff. Cause it’s not like I don’t want the truck but I am not wasting 4 hours of my time to drive down and back for them to do something I could have ordered it with.

I get their logic though. You’re asking them to install parts on a truck you don’t own. If you up for pickup and find a spot of rust on the axle and decide to walk it puts them in a weird position.

Oh I get it too but 4 hours round trip is a big chunk of my time and wouldn’t have a vehicle…and also say that up front that you don’t do that.

Cause this is the second vehicle I bought from them and went back because of how well they treated me. Last time they had to drive to get it and then installed 3 accessories before I took delivery so same idea. Granted we are in a different world now but they would still sell it if I walked.

I chatted with ford this morning and they just said my truck was still awaiting shipment (as it has been since May 31). Ordertrack.app finally updated from "awaiting shipment" to "in transit" this afternoon. I chatted again and they confirmed "in transit" and I got a railcar #. They're saying it's still at Ramp 5M in New Boston, MI... but at least the slow gears are moving. My latest email from Ford had an ETA of Jul 26-Aug 1, so fingers crossed the day could be coming!

Mine also just updated to " In Transit" in the ordertrackapp. Ford Tracker still shows it parked. Guess I'll reach out to Ford Chat again!

I haven't been able to use the ford tracker for probably over a month, so I have been checking in with ford chat 2-3 times a week and watching ordertrack.app.

I think there are some directions on here somewhere, but I googled and found some directions for CSX (the shipper ford chat told me). they only have a phone voice response system.. no free tracking website.
