my dads friend has been in Munchie, KS on a rail car for 3 weeks. You're not going anywhere fast unfortunately lol

Truck went to the Norfolk Southern VOLTZ yard in Birmingham.

It could be that it's at a holding yard in Muncie waiting for the rail car to come back from Wilmington, DE before going back again, but I really doubt that.

Only rail yard that operates out of Muncie is Union Pacific, which doesn't even look like it goes East of Illinois, so unless Ford is having my truck tour America before heading out to PA, I don't think it's in or ever was in Muncie.

In my experience Ford chat has told me City, State, Ramp#, and Railcar# it is on
Just got off Ford Chat. I'm showing "CONVOY" on my WS and was told previously truck would show up at dealer between 6/1-6/7. Here's what I got from Chat:
Emily: Thank you for your patience, Mark. Your vehicle is in awaiting shipment status. Awaiting shipment means the vehicle has been built, and we are arranging shipment to the selling Dealer. The vehicle is expected to be picked up by the shipper by 6/7/2022. You may click on the “+” sign at the bottom of this window to, print, email or end this conversation. Is there anything else I can assist you with today?
Mark: Thanks. So is it being shipped by truck to the dealer or will it spend time on a railcar?
Emily: Currently, we are unable to tell. Once the vehicle is picked up we will have that information.
So apparently the dates given me prior were for shipment dates not arrival dates (thought it was too good to be true). Makes sense as I haven't received a "Your F150 has shipped" email from Ford.

Once you have a rail car number, I think it's safe to say it's either loaded, or about to be loaded and put on the move.

The railcar my truck is supposed to be on is at Port Wilmington.

Hopefully it gets unloaded today, I imagine that would trigger an update to Ford and the trucking company that is supposed to move it the remaining 45 miles.

I got a chat update yesterday telling me my truck was in Blue Island, IL yesterday, where it had been since May 21. Today I received this update:
I see that the status of your vehicle order is "Received". This means the vehicle has been received by a carrier at a ramp location. It is located in  Ramp 7L, Pearland Auto, TX and your ETA is Jun-22-2022-Jun-28-2022.
This puts it at about 100 miles from the dealership. Based on the 21 day transport window that has been talked about here, the 21st day should be the first day of my delivery window. Could come earlier, of course, but at least I feel comfortable it will stay on schedule now that it's out of Blue Island.

@JohnMcClane how are you tracking your railcar progress?

How did you find out that you were on a rail car?
ford chat told me and gave me a railcar number. Until that moves and I can see it somewhere in VA I’m not bothering Ford chat again.

@JohnMcClane how are you tracking your railcar progress?

This is for Norfolk Southern rail car tracking, not sure how other work.

(800) 635-5768
Option 2
Option 2

Then typing in the rail car letters, then typing in the rail car numbers.

There's a short pause and then it gives the status.

I understand that from other previous posts but you'd think if trucks are traveling in a general direction they would follow some semblance. All the Koons Va trucks are rail while mine and @Riderdie757 are both convoy (from the WS leaving the plant) going to the Hampton Roads Va area and they also mentioned Petersburg Va was were ours will land after being on rail.
one would think so. :)

@Mcbutter | VA Dealer | WS=Convoy | Awaiting Shipment
@Riderdie757 | VA Dealer | WS=Convoy | In transit?
@NewToFord | Koons, VA = WS=Convoy | Currently on rail car
@Kalidor | Koons, VA | WS=Convoy | Already Delivered
@capetownkg | Koons, VA | WS=Convoy | Awaiting Shipment

Any other VA bound trucks?

Oh wow, I thought I remember seeing the Koons Va orders WS show rail when we got them before production week. My mistake from the earlier comment.

SO did you ever get info at anytime from chat or others that had your delivery pushed out to September or October? My platinum was built 5/10, but found out it is now sitting at Dearborn waiting on a wiper motor, ordered on 3/12.
Thanks in Advance.

No, I have been consistently been given the June 22-28 delivery ETA since the date I was informed the truck shipped. According to the sequence number on my WS and my blend date, it seems I was likely one of the last trucks built in Dearborn on the 5/9 build week and it appears I lucked out and missed the chip and wiper motor shortages some of y'all experienced in the early part of that week.

Everything about my build seems to have been very fortunate so far. You can check my signature for details. I rode the fence for months and months about whether to pull the trigger on ordering a truck right now. Within the span of a few days I received a PCO and news broke of the April price increase. My present built truck would cost me $4,600 more if I didn't place the order when I did, so I pulled the trigger. Also, I was considering everything from an optioned-out XLT to a modestly-optioned Platinum. Went with the 501A Lariat because I felt it gave me the best overall value (people can disagree with this). I have wondered a lot over the last two months if my experience would have been different if I had ordered a higher or lower trim than what I did.

At least when the railcar is in transit, you can see *actual* progress and the days get shorter. When the railcar is "placed in industry" is where your truck is unloaded from the railcar and then goes into one of the strangest black holes in the entire process. Ford Chat knows where it is, you know where it is, but there is no progress on the "last mile" that you can view.

I naïvely expected that once my truck was deposited at the railyard for the ride to the last mile, that it would just be a day or two before showing up at the dealer. Granted, my dealer was 120 miles from the railyard, but that last 19 days before the Ford Tracker status changed felt like eternity. I hope yours goes much faster.

I'm watching your progress with interest! It'll be all over with soon!
