Had a useless chat lol. Yesterday they told me its on a micro chip hold to 10/4. Today they tell me its still on a micro chip hold. But give me an ETA of 6/24. My tracker says built and awaiting shipping.

Wow, Ford is more inconsistent than the economy. At least with the economy I know I'll just keep paying more and more for the same shit.

You do realize that commodity/chip availability changes daily right? We have a whole team now dedicated to getting stuff so we can build our stuff. Its all they do. What they can acquire changes hourly.

Would you rather Ford not try and just keep the October date? Should be happy they improved the date.

For what it's worth, mine said built while I was on chip hold. Not for very long though

Would you rather Ford not try and just keep the October date? Should be happy they improved the date.

I think we are just venting some. We get things are tough.... But Ford also has an entire PR team that could easily be more open about the process and keep people informed. Dont see why they couldn't have a dedicated team to deal with custom orders and just keep people a little more informed. Just be honest, even to the point of "hey we are going to give a way off ETA but are doing everything possible to get it to ya ASAP"

I had emailed my dealer and told him to forget about my order because I couldn't wait with the ETA they gave me. Luckily I decided to email him again and changed that.

So since my truck has finally started moving, it really appears to be MOVING.

Apparently it's in Enola, PA as of 11 am. Would not be surprised if it gets to Philaport by the end of the day today or sometime tomorrow. Then I enter the 21 day truck delivery window @Severdog provided.

Which is pretty wild, 21 days from today or tomorrow will be almost smack dab in the middle of the delivery ETA Ford provided.

Sounds like it's luck of the draw, some folks have to wait almost the entire window, some folks see there truck get delivered the next day.

Easy Princess. I’m sure everyone here has a solid understanding of what is in Ford’s control and what isn’t.

Bottom line, they took more orders than they (you?) can handle. They screwed up chip procurement. It wasn’t completely something that happened to them out of the blue. Other manufacturers did way better. This corporation miscalculated and shat the bed.

Unless people here have awesome dealers/salespeople communication from this corporation is spotty at best. That is something completely in the corporation’s control.

Please tell me how I should view the corporation that took my order and deposit 14 months ago and last told me it would be another 5 months for it to be released from chip hold? Please do tell me more about the corporation doing their best….

Hey hey hey, some poorly paid data scientist had to build a whole new training and test set for the algorithm to say “it will be yours soon!” Instead of referencing the wrong model on the wrong forum.

Because apparently deriving the model from the URL is hard and hiring real PR people is expensive.
