I am with you, this is my 4th Ford and first time ordering a retail, I read a lots of stories last year before ordering and kind of aware the situation, but it still blow me away that a fortune 500 company could be this disorganized and poorly management between the production line and their customer communication...

I am from Metro Detroit and know a lot of people who work for the big 3, most of them received big fat bonus check last year because of the market, but no body care about the customer....
Wow. Do you really think all of this is becuase Ford is disorganized?

I take it you dont work for anyone that manufactures anything.

This parts shortage is a moving target. What is available today, is not tomorrow. Todays non-issue is a shitshow tomorrow.

It is affecting all manufactures. Not just the auto industry.

And some are expecting daily updates and details? What is any OEM going to communicate beyond supplier issues?

It is not a good time to buy a vehicle, along with most items. You should have known this going in and set expectations accordingly.

I ordered in February. I hope it shows up this year. If not, it will be a 23 model.

70k is nothing compared to some OEM issues. We sell systems that cost hundreds of millions of dollars. We have the same isssues. Nothing we can do but work through issues when they arrise.

All about managing your expectations. If you expected a new truck in 3 months in this enviroment, thats on you.

What did you dealer say? VVR? This is nuts
VVR just lists repeated “Convoy delays”. The dealer has no further insight or information. Ford marketing also has no information beyond “shipping delay”.

I wouldn’t mind the delay so much if someone could just tell me what the hell is going instead of just sliding out the delivery date repeatedly after they fail to meet it.

I understand part shortages. That’s beyond Ford’s control.

My truck was built on 1/26 and still hasn’t shipped and Ford can’t/ won’t tell me why or when I can expect to get it.

That to me seems like something well within their control.

Trust me, I have been waiting over 9 months for my truck, initially a 2021 model , then Dealer told me it was not happening and got pushed to a 2022 model during early Oct, and got a Vin in Late Oct with a build week of 11/29, then it changed like 9 times which it finally got into production since Jan 27 then went silence, I think I have the right to bash Ford as much as I can, this is a shit show, no doubt, I saw some of our 2021 folks still waiting their 2021 trucks which ordered in June when all the 2022s start to get delivered.

Is it too much to ask some kind of communication from Ford or it is OK to keep Customer in Dark for who the hell know how long? Like many others have said we all understand the current shortage, but Ford should have done a better job to communication with us, this is not acceptable.

That may be true but when you trade your truck because the dealership tells you it’s a 6 to 8 week wait and your pushing 9 months, I think someone should be able to tell you something by now.
It also makes no sense when other people have builds after yours and they already received their vehicles and they have even higher trim levels. Clearly parts are available.

6-8 weeks? Wow. That Dealer is not honest. I never received an order that fast. Ordered in 2007, 2014 and 2019. Both were 3-4 months under normal circumstances.

Dealer just wanted to sell your truck. I would not do business with them. Should name dealer so others can stay away.

Still on dealer, not Ford.

Yes, I was a bit skeptical but I took the bait. I ordered through Ford of Ocala (FL). They’ve since sold out to another dealership which is part of my concern. They’re sitting on my trade money and if they went under I’d be out a lot of cash.

I agree it is frustrating and it would be nice if we had better information coming from Ford, but I think it is unrealistic to expect one-on-one communication. They would have to assign each vehicle to a customer support person, route daily progress reports to all of those CS employees so they could update their assigned customer base, and give them all a $60K salary just to babysit for us. Can you imagine the CS staff size and the budget necessary to manage half a million vehicles a year?

Alright - so nothing on Palsapp - but I put my VIN in the United Road Tracker this morning, and it shows my dealership as the destination, and a Load Number. Anyone know how I can use that load number to track progress?
