August 14th! I thought it was May 14th - when did Ford tack on another three months?

I just received a VVR Full History screenshot of my King Ranch order through Chapman. No change - still at Ramp 51 in Flat Rock on micro chip hold since Feb 25th after being produced on Jan 25th at Dearborn. End date in the ETA columns is still May 22nd.
Does your visibility report actually say chiphold?

I am back from picking up my 701A from Granger and thought I'd share some initial thoughts.

I covered 1500 miles (not a direct route back) and got 21.4 mpg for the entire trip. I filled up with 93 octane and got about .5 mpg higher over those tanks. I'm not sure what was in the truck to start. Just under 5% of my miles were hybrid.

The hybrid engine and 10 speed transmission are great. The truck is smoother and more powerful than my 2016 3.5 EB. I didn't notice any clunky shifting issues. The switch between hybrid and ICE is seamless and I often didn't even notice it.

The B&O Unleashed is pretty good for a factory stereo. It's nowhere near as good as a custom system though. I didn't notice any volume issues. It was plenty loud. Others have commented on the perfect setup, which I tried, and it sounded fine. However, I really could not discern much of a difference between surround and stereo modes. After going back and forth, I might slightly prefer stereo.

I agree that leaving the fade all the way forward results in a sound that's too heavy on the center speaker. I moved it back but not all the way back behind the cup holders like others have said. I adjusted the bass up slightly but left the treble and mids alone. Everyone hears music different, so this is just my preference.

As far as other features, I liked Bluecruise. It was great on the interstates and worked well. My only small complaint is that when passing a semi or other large vehicle, I prefer to leave a bit of room and move to the outside of the lane. Bluecruise does not, so it always seemed like I was a bit too close for comfort. I often took over when passing and went back to Bluecruise afterward.

Wireless Carplay is a huge improvement over the wired version that's still all not that great on my current truck. I used this the entire trip for maps and music. I didn't even touch Ford's navigation. I've never used wireless charging before, but it seemed like it wasn't strong enough to charge up my phone if it was low but it would keep the phone from running down throughout the day when using Carplay. I'll be watching this more closely in the future to see how it works.

I only played around with the drive modes a bit. I mostly used normal but tried eco and sport a few times. I will probably leave the truck in normal. I did notice a couple times when running eco that after I turned the truck off and back on I got a prompt asking me if I wanted to stay in eco. I don't recall if this always happened when I was in a mode other than normal before turning the truck off.

The tow mirrors provide a huge improvement in visibility. While they are a bit big, in my opinion, they function really well and I wouldn't want the more limited visibility of the standard mirrors. I do think the automatic folding function is almost essential with these mirrors. I really got used to the folding running boards and mirrors.

The seat was very comfortable for the drive. Much more comfortably than my 2016. I only briefly played with the massage function and need to try it out more, but it's probably not something I'll use all that much. I really like the memory settings for the driver's seat, which is one feature I've always regretting not having in my XLT.

I haven't tried the generator and various other features, but so far this truck has really exceeded my expectations, and they were pretty high to start.

The AMB is a great color. The blue really comes out in the sun, in fact it's much brighter than I expected based on comments on the forums. In more subdued lighting I see how it can look black though.

One thing I noticed half way home was that my tires were at 45 psi. I don't know if that's because Ford filled them up in Dearborn in January and it was much warmer when I checked or if there's some other reason. Doesn't matter as it was an easy fix. The door jam sticker lists 35 psi on the tires and 1347 on the payload capacity.

My VVR now says child hold moved to storage
Storage?!? Wonder what that means? ?
Did the location change on the VVR - Ramp 51?

Just curious what this VVR is and who can access it??
VVR = Vehicle Visibility Report. It's a report your dealer has at his disposal.

Interesting, I’m in Canada and my salesman has never mentioned that, just their weekly Tuesday sales tape updates.

I just received the same email moments ago, unfortunately. Just when I was hoping to receive the Build complete email based on other timelines. Wondering if this is somehow tied to the “Storage” location on the VVR. Whatever it is, I’m thinking NOT good. Also wondering if it has anything to do with the reports everywhere of quality issues. Maybe not as easy as just tossing in a module….? Or have they switched vendors (or actually switched chips) on some of these modules and need to do more significant modifications to drop in the new / missing modules? Ugh.

Is it time to turn on the browser cookies, click the track link in the email, and start hitting the Ram and Chevy sites?

The Vehicle Visibility Report can be accessed by the dealer. I ask for a screenshot every couple of weeks. I find two tabs to be of most interest - Current Status and Full History.

…or go order a basic XL-STX and live with less until things get fixed at Ford’s suppliers. I was kind of hoping this would be my ride for the next ten years, though, and wanted the luxuries that I ordered.

I received the updated status email also. Definitely does not seem a positive development.

Over 1.5 months after production and the update is "It is going to take longer than we thought to complete..." I think that was obvious when it went past a week beyond the build date...
