That's a piss poor take, especially considering some of Ford's highest sales volume dealers in the country are located in Metro Detroit, where 90% of their sales are A-plan. They don't just deliver shit and tell the customer to take a hike, and justify it because they are A-plan sales.
Just wanted to stop in and confirm that the ground wire does indeed need to be ran back to Negative terminal on battery, as SGS states. Mainly to deter anyone considering using the cab or frame for a ground.
I foolishly tried grounding it on the back cab wall. It seemed to work...but sound...
Pathetic. I wonder if any adventurous souls might try to fab up a heat sink to install on the factory DRL LED assembly. It is my understanding that these specific LEDs don't have heat sinks, while the LED headlights and fog lights do. The running theory is the DRL LEDs overheat and fail.
Come on man, you know us slowbrain peasants aren't supposed to be fiddling with these things. If you keep it up Ford will eliminate the dipstick all together!
Take your time - those things can be in TIGHT and the aluminum dipstick can start to deform if your tool isn't perfectly on it.
Find a different dealer. Call Ford and open a case.
@Ford Motor Company dealerships like this one are destroying your loyal customer base. It is time to start thinning the herd.
I've driven all engine combinations of F150 for several days each and the 2.7 is the most "fun" daily driver, due to its instant torque.
I love my 5.0 because its an amazing engine and sounds like heaven, but if I were to not care about the sound, I'd likely have a 2.7.
Fuel economy suffers a bit but the increased performance is incredible. I only run e85 or 93, nothing else. 93 octane if I'm going on a trip and need the additional fuel economy/extended range, e85 if it's just the usual around town driving.
F150 torque converters are indeed different than Mustangs.
Each engine choice gets a different converter, and even if you compare 5.0 Mustang converter to 5.0 F150 converter, they are different. I've talked with the OEM torque converter manufacturer and he said the 5.0 F150 converters were...
I worked at a Ford dealership 20 years ago and made good money doing warranty road force balances on the new at the time 2004 F150s. It was a near daily thing for a while. Thankfully, I had a good manager who cared about customers and cared to teach me the proper way to do things.
Fast forward...
