LH’s 2021 Star White PB Build & Travel Log

Well I figured I would jump in here and share some details of the truck. As the title states, 2021 PB, 157”, FX4 package (which is junk overall), I moved into this unit from a Tacoma that was fully built but needed to the towing power to haul things. Here are a couple pics, the second one obviously the day I brought it home and the first one is how it sits today. When I bought the unit off the lot in Dec of 21, I had never heard of the PB lineup. I will go through things in the following post to share details along the way.

When I got the truck there was a limited amount of suspension kits available at the time and since the PB was still a new thing not all manufacturers were onboard with new kits for it, the eco boost and the 5.0 had a much larger selection. I decided on one around June of 22 but since adding the front replacement bumper the shocks are not well suited for the additional weight, I need to move a 700lb spring setup vs the standard 600lb ones that come with most kits. At the time I had found a used front bumper, worked fine but the front parking sensors did not like it, so I just turned them off for a few years…

Around September of 22 I added a couple more things to the truck, bed side molle’s and a dual antenna setup so I could get my 10m/cb radio and my GMRS radio installed. I also added a lighting controller from RC, it needs to be replaced as it is not a quality unit and the backlit part of it all has stopped working but I am still able to toggle lights on. Pictures on no order, just loaded up.

By December off 22 RCI had finally got all the skid plates done to work with my unit, so got them ordered up and installed, the factory ones for the FX4 package are total junk and most people they were hanging down. I took them all off and sold them on FB for about 100 just to unload them.

In April of 23 we took our first big trip with the truck, was fairly happy with the way it handled things and some of the obstacles that it went over with still being on stock tires and only my 2.5” lift kit. Here are a few pics of the trip. (New Mexico, Colorado, Utah (Moab)

We stayed in BLM land the night before we decided to start our way home. Pics of the campsite as we were able to take the back way into Arches National Park without going through the main gate.

We made a stop at the National Sand Dunes on the way home, that was pretty cool and I am glad we stopped as I guess once all the snow melts there is no water so cool to catch at that time of year.

Sweet trip! Do you have any pics with the awning out too? My setup is very similar. 55” FSR High Country RTT.

Wish I had the 6.5’ bed tho. And the 4A from the Lariat transfer case.

Great pics, family and I just got back from a trip to Moab, Arches and Canyons. We rented a 4 door Bronco and thoroughly enjoyed it.
