Hey all, I’ll preface that I know this is a very minor issue, but I’m trying to set my own expectations as to whether it’s worth bringing this up during my next service visit.

Due to what appears to be misalignment in the leather stitching, there is a large wrinkle in my drivers seat. The truck is less than a month old and I noticed it shortly after taking delivery, so I don’t believe it could be normal wear and tear.

My question is: would you bring this up and ask for a warranty fix? I don’t love the way this looks, but I also think it’s likely that the dealership comes back and says this is considered normal workmanship and warranty will not apply. At that point I’m guessing I’d be liable for a nice diagnostic fee.

I’d love anyone’s thoughts or experiences with similar issues. Thanks!

Edit: I was able to fix it myself. See https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...d-you-ask-for-repair.43997/page-3#post-736054

If it bothers you, I would ASAP go to the dealer and ask the service-writer to take a look and offer an opinion about this (it can't hurt to ask, you might get lucky, and you'll never know if you don't at least ask).

That would not incur a fee, you could just say 'thanks' and drive away if you don't get an encouraging response (you can then consider if you want to pursue the more formal process with attendant risks of diagnostic cost with no joy).

I would not delay, IMO your chances of joy increase if this is brought up as a soon as possible as a 'just noticed' cosmetic manufacturing defect.

Thanks for the reply. I have an appointment Monday for an unrelated issue (airbag light has been on since the day I took it home, gotta love the QC on these things…). I’ll show the service advisor and ask what they can do.

I think that steam could be used by the dealer to tighten that up. However, I doubt they have the proper gear on hand. But definitely bring it to their attention asap.

I'd take it to the selling dealer, show them and politely ask them for a repair, or a new seat cover.

How many miles on the truck? Wasn't it noticeable at the time of delivery??

I will be very honest and direct and say you are overreacting over a natural occurance on the leather seat. In your picture their are two creases one in the upper back panel and the seat panel, Nothing abnormal or a warranty issue in my opinion.. They mey even make it worse trying to "fix" it! it! No matter what you do to make it crease free now will only appear again in the not to distant future, My 21 Lariat had simmilar creases as well as my 25 KR.. Enjoy your truck and dont strees, totally normal what you hace shown us.

I appreciate the input, and I agree it’s not a huge issue. Although “overreacting” might be a bit harsh, I’m just looking for opinions here :)

Your 25 has active X seats. Not leather. I’m sure you paid close to 60-70K if not more…It’s your truck and if it bothers you I would politely bring it to their attention. No harm in asking. If you get nowhere you’ll find a whole new seat undamaged from a salvaged truck in no time… best of luck with your decision!

Yep, not leather in a '25. Steaming not an option.

My 2023 (leather) has the exact same crease in the exact same spot, since new. I never mentioned it to a dealer. I found a thread with lots of pictures of the same thing back then and it seemed common.

I don't think people are looking at every detail when buying a new truck . And somethings just don't show up !

I wouldn’t want my seat to have a wrinkle no matter what the material.
I had leather put in mine and if I went to pick it up and it looked like yours I would tell them to redo it.
It appears to be sewn incorrectly.
These trucks cost too much to have QC issues that you have to look at every time you get in your truck.

If it bothers you I would bring it up. My '25 Lariat seats material seems much thinner than previous - dealer told me there was nothing they could do but replace it with the same thing (and he wouldn't do that). Note the Lariat seats are not real leather - they are the made to look vinyl material - but they wear pretty well. The only real leather in our trucks are the steering wheel cover and the gear shift handle ... good thing is these seats wear pretty well and handle wet clothing from a rain storm and other dirty events well. Bad, well you don't get the great new car leather smell!

Note: ’25 Lariats had a leather option if you upgraded to the top 502a package. It was about $5,000 over the 501a package with the Active X. Standard Lariat seats were cloth. There was a bunch of other stuff that came with the 502a like heated rear seats…. I passed on the 502a and got the 501a package.
