Just received oil change warning for first time at 0% oil life

Do you not regularly check your oil?

I check mine at least once a month and I check the oil life indicator about as often, so I have an idea where things are at.

So, yesterday out of the blue, I get the "Oil Change Required" warning light, and it's at 0% oil life.
I got NO warning at all before this. I could swear that there used to be a warning at 50% and maybe 25% or something, Y/N? very irritating and stupid!
Anyone else run into this?

No warning that I know of ! You should know when the oil and filter should be changed by your milage , not to be a smart ass. I change my oil every 3000 miles or 6 months , Just for shit's and Giggles !! My Tremor has just turned 8000 miles and I have changed the oil 5 or 6 Times. Each his Own. Oil and filter are Cheep !! (WalMark, Penzoil U/P) I will say , I use my truck for pleasure and hunting that's a 300 mile trip there and back , and I run the truck to it fullest !! The oil does get hot !! Motor's are costly , Oil is Cheep. But that's just me !

I DO go by mileage... hence the surprise...duh!!!

I am a lifelong oil changer as well, that's not the issue here.
I keep getting the electronic change oil its at 0% lately. My oil is good, pressure, color etc. I even reset the thing and it still shows up zero. It's gotta be an error in the sytem. I'm setting up with local dealer and will report back here.
