Antimatter Blue Paint issue (nightmare)

My 2025 KR in Antimatter Blue was delivered at the end of June. I didn't notice anything obvious, so I just went out and looked under/over/around a little closer to see if I had any of the trouble spots noted above, but fortunately I still didn't see anything. If there are blemishes on there, it's not obvious and would need me to get even closer to spot, which means it's probably not going to bother me.

I don't know if they make these in different plants but I think mine said it came from Dearborn, if that adds any context.

Mine, although White Platinum, had real bad paint on the door Jambs and inside the fuel door, you could see the primer right through the paint, the paint job on my 23 Lariat was just awful, it was super thin. The paint on my 2025 King Ranch that is Grey seems great. and I looked dam close.

The easiest way to find the thin paint areas is to park it somewhere dark and use a flashlight to go over the truck. The spots will stand out.

Man, you guys had me worried about my new truck in AMB. Had to really take a closer look in the areas that would be easy to miss. I can report that mine seems to be good all around.

On a slightly different note, I see on Ford’s B&P, if you choose AMB, it’s currently a $395 upcharge.

When I bought my truck last Oct I definitely noticed a few spots where they could have hit a little more thoroughly in the paint step, but nowhere near as bad as the OP. Luckily for me, aside from the wheel wells (Husky liners FTW, lol), it's only in areas that you would see when looking really close so I can live with it.

I did notice while buying this truck that Ford is making AMB harder to get by restricting its availability to certain trim levels and option combos. It was the biggest reason of many why I decided against ordering a 2025 and bought this truck from a dealership 3 hours away from me.

I bought mine off my dealers lot. They had several in AMB and it seemed they were all BAP and BAP+, so it makes sense that it was indeed restricted.

Has anyone else had Antimatter Blue paint issues of visible primer? My 2025 Lariat door frames, rear of cab, roof gutters etc are lit up with primer and lack of paint. Unfortunately, I didn’t see this until after delivery in the afternoon sunlight.

I just picked mine up two weeks ago. Honestly haven't looked at it that close but I will and let you know if I have similar issues.

I picked my 702A AMB up November of last year. The dealer held it and sent it to a body shop to have the tailgate resprayed because of its paint issues. I don't have anything wrong in the spots that matter but, you can definitely see they used a bare minimum coating and there's a lot of unpainted primer! My build week was the same as Barry's and some of the other guys with their major AMB paint issues last year.

Thanks for the heads up, I have an AMB Lariat on order going thru production this week, I'll certainly scrutinize it at the dealer before taking it. I'll post what Ford sends me.

Are these issues restricted to a particular plant or timeframe? Mine was built in May of '24 in Dearborn with no paint issues. Maybe the old saying of never buy a vehicle built on a Monday or Friday is true. Not acceptable in any case. Hope Ford steps up for you.

Honestly, who knows! I know Barry and I's production week was botched but, other people complaining even more recently tells me maybe its a finicky paint or there's a combination of factors playing into a successful application. Definitely more so with this paint color than others though.
