Gang,
Looking for a little insight. Picked up my 2021 XLT in March of 2021 after waiting over half a year for it. Truck was spec’d exactly how I wanted it and I love(d) it.
Less than a year ago, my windshield wipers started going haywire. My 12” display screen also went black. Brought the truck in and had the screen fixed, but was told the windshield wiper issue was a pending recall and that parts had no ETA. I continued to reluctantly drive the truck for 4-5 months with windshield wipers that would stick vertically, or just not cycle at all. Contacted Ford Motor Company and started a complaint with no real sense of compassion for a $62,000 truck that I had to sit on the side of the road to wait out rain storms in.
Shortly afterward, my 12” display magically goes black again and then just a grey screen with no response from the selections. Brought the truck in for the windshield wiper recall, and my dealer diagnosed the screen issue as a faulty SYNC module with no ETA of the part.
For the past 5 months I have had no SYNC, no navigation, no CarPlay, no radio display, no climate control display, etc. I physically went to my Ford dealer last week to inquire on ETA of the SYNC module, and was told it’s in stock (how long was it in, who knows?) and that the next appointment would be a month out. After calling Ford Motor Company (again and again), I magically received a call from my Ford dealer to tell me I have an appointment 12/19/2022 to replace it.
I know the automotive industry is a mess right now, but for my 8th Ford F-Series, I’m disgusted in the fact that I’ve been paying on a truck that I’ve been without so many functions for with only just over 15,000 miles. Has anybody had similar issues and had any luck with Ford Motor Company rectifying anything like this? I leased this truck and have 2 payments left but have such a poor taste in my mouth I’ve considered jumping brands.
Appreciate any and all insight!
