Gang,

Looking for a little insight. Picked up my 2021 XLT in March of 2021 after waiting over half a year for it. Truck was spec’d exactly how I wanted it and I love(d) it.

Less than a year ago, my windshield wipers started going haywire. My 12” display screen also went black. Brought the truck in and had the screen fixed, but was told the windshield wiper issue was a pending recall and that parts had no ETA. I continued to reluctantly drive the truck for 4-5 months with windshield wipers that would stick vertically, or just not cycle at all. Contacted Ford Motor Company and started a complaint with no real sense of compassion for a $62,000 truck that I had to sit on the side of the road to wait out rain storms in.

Shortly afterward, my 12” display magically goes black again and then just a grey screen with no response from the selections. Brought the truck in for the windshield wiper recall, and my dealer diagnosed the screen issue as a faulty SYNC module with no ETA of the part.

For the past 5 months I have had no SYNC, no navigation, no CarPlay, no radio display, no climate control display, etc. I physically went to my Ford dealer last week to inquire on ETA of the SYNC module, and was told it’s in stock (how long was it in, who knows?) and that the next appointment would be a month out. After calling Ford Motor Company (again and again), I magically received a call from my Ford dealer to tell me I have an appointment 12/19/2022 to replace it.

I know the automotive industry is a mess right now, but for my 8th Ford F-Series, I’m disgusted in the fact that I’ve been paying on a truck that I’ve been without so many functions for with only just over 15,000 miles. Has anybody had similar issues and had any luck with Ford Motor Company rectifying anything like this? I leased this truck and have 2 payments left but have such a poor taste in my mouth I’ve considered jumping brands.

Appreciate any and all insight!

From what I have heard you will be rolling the dice with any of the big three right now.

Sorry for your crappy experience. Since your lease is up in 2 months it seems like an easy choice to hand them the keys and get something more reliable.

Very unfortunate the issues that you’ve had. Paying on a vehicle that is missing functionality is hard to swallow.

Good thing you are leasing. You can just drop it off, dust off your hands and walk away.

i feel your pain. i too would be pretty salty to say the least. as a lease nearing its end, as a couple others have said, dust your hands off and drop it off and dont look back. Every now and then a rotten apple is amongst the bunch. you could try another f150 lease or move to another brand.

none of these issues are ford specific though. other manufacturers are having their own problems and issues. since its your 8th f series, i'd just try again and hope for the best since its obvious you love having the f150 as a vehicle.

All brands have this problems right now. Its not a brand problem its a supply problem. Bad parts happen all the time for everyone, But when there are no parts available, your situation happens.

My neighbor has a high end Ram, Been sitting for 6mo waiting on a new axel. I think it a 2021? all under warranty, just no parts.
