2021 F150 trailer brake / brake controller nightmare

2023 XLT 3.5 PB 3,400 mi: Did not attempt towing. Steady "Trailer brake system fault" and " Passenger Sounder Fault Service Now" w/CEL. Dealership found squirrel damage on system ground wiring below the main battery. The tech repaired w/o replacing harness.

I have a 2021 F150 and have towed, but never anything that needed a brake control. I'm all of a sudden getting the brake control fault as well. Of course it happens after the warranty is up.

There was a recall/TSB on this issue so the dealer should address it even after the warranty is up (if they already haven't, in which case there may be another cause).
