Little backstory. My truck sat at airport parking lot for 7 days. When we got back it started right up and I drove it 2hrs home. About an hour and a half after I got home my alarm randomly went off. Back window was cracked so I assume a moth or something flew in.

Next day had zero issues. Ran errands most the day just fine.

Yesterday I get the "deep sleep" message from Ford pass. Then when I went to start the truck to leave for work it sputtered. Started on the second try but then was throwing "pre collision not available" and "trailer brake system fault"...drove to the gas station. Shut it off and back on. Pre collision error went away but the trailer brake system fault remained.

Worked my 12hr shift fully expecting a dead battery when I went to leave. Truck started right up but the trailer brake fault message remained and audibly reminded my of it's existence every second or two for my entire ride home.

It's the weekend now so obviously I won't be getting it to the dealer soon...was wondering if anyone has experienced this and had any quick fix to clear the fault? I downloaded the fuse diagram and plan to check the relative fuses but beyond that not sure if there are any other suggestions.

Hey! Did you ever find a fix for this?

My truck started incessantly flashing the trailer brake system fault screen while driving. I drove it home, went inside for a few minutes and came back outside. When I went to start it again, it just wouldn't start.... Sometimes you would get a crank or two, but mostly you would just hear all of the relays clicking. Now I have a dead truck in my driveway and don't really know what to do.

Hey man! I took my truck to the dealer when the faults were occurring and they said they "reset" something and it went away and to bring it back if it popped up again. It never came back but I suspect root cause all along was a bad battery. After getting the "remote features not available" message from Ford pass and seeing some "shut off to conserve battery" messages on the display I took it in and sure enough...bad battery. They replaced it under warranty. I think the faults stem from the dead battery and once that system faults out there isn't an easy way for us to reset it at home.

I hope that that's my issue too. I checked the battery with my multimeter and it was still sitting at 12.1 V. I've just had a lot of other random electrical "quirks" with this truck so it's got me worried haha. Thanks for the reply!

Just had this same issue with my 23 Powerboost. 17k miles and it just did the same thing the OP described. However, my truck went into limp mode- so I immediately drove at 5 mph to the local ford dealership. Long story short, they say the image processor module went bad and that caused a "short in the network"- whatever the heck that means?!
