Still waiting for my truck!

Ford built my new Lariat last Wednesday, has been sitting in Kansas City for a week! Shouldn't be difficult to find a truck heading to Iowa.

Couldn't they use the self driving to have the truck drive itself to my dealer?!?!

Question: How do you track the truck post-built? How do you know it's in Kansas?
Mine is schedule for the week of April 28, so I am somewhat in the same boat.

Ford sent me an email a month after I ordered the truck. Once I got the VIN from my dealer, I plugged that in and it shows each step in the process from order/build/ship.

The VIN will tell you what plant the truck is being built at.

Ah the most agonizing part of the wait. I'm normally pretty patient but between the time my truck showed built and delivered I think I refreshed the order tracking site every hour at least.

Buckle up, it could sit there for days, weeks, a month or more. Then start the journey to you, but get stuck in a rail yard for a bit longer. You just don't know. My truck was built in late November and didn't show up to the dealer until mid-January.

Amazing how Amazon can keep you posted every step of the way for a $10 package, even down to the stops, track the truck etc. But order a new vehicle from Ford, it's anybody's guess!

I'd prepare to be patient. My order was built on 3/4/25 and it's still stuck at the Dearborn plant. Dealer can't tell me why, just says on hold.

It could be worse. Last year mine sat at the railyard <5 miles from the dealership for days...

Mine is on rail. I ordered it in October of 2024. I was told that being I selected the factory spray box liner the truck sits in a big row of trucks waiting for box liners, they get to it when they get to it, this explains why my order sat status body shop for so long before it got shipped.
