Hey everyone,

I’m trying to upgrade my 2023 F-150 FX4 XLT (5.0 V8) with some Tremor components, but I ran into an issue with my local Ford dealership (Not in the US).

I wanted to order the following parts:
  1. F-150 2021-2022 Tremor Half Shafts (Ford Performance Part #M-3429-F150).
  2. 8.8” Front Axle Limited Slip Torsen Differential (Ford Performance Part #M-4204-F150LS)

The issue is my dealership doesn’t have Ford Performance parts catalog. They suggested I find the standard Ford part numbers for these items.

Does anyone know the equivalent OEM Ford part numbers for these? Or any alternative ways to source them through a dealership?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I did consider ordering directly from the Ford Performance website, but the shipping cost to my country is ridiculously high due to the weight of these parts ?

The Tremor axles sold by Ford Performance are ML3Z-3A427-C and ML3Z-3A428-C, the Torsen carrier for the front axle is CL3Z-4026-E. The Torsen is much more expensive when it's ordered with the Ford service part number.

Be advised: My shop has installed two sets of Tremor axles in my XL. The boots on both sets have torn and leaked immediately right where the boots were clamped onto the shafts, not where they flex. I’m not alone with this issue.

That’s concerning!! Any comments from Ford on this issue?

Haven’t reached out to Ford yet. We purchased from @Stage 3 Motorsports. Waiting to hear from them.

I have them on my truck and I had one boot start leaking almost immediately, but a close inspection revealed a very small impact mark right where it was leaking. My second set has been ok so far, but I only have about 1,000 miles on them.

I'll also add that the benefits of running the Tremor axles isn't very clear. They are supposed to have a better outer CV joint and better CV boots, but the Tremor CV boots aren't very strong and they aren't sold separately from the axles. I also haven't seen anyone break a standard or upgraded CV joint yet.

At some point I plan to test fit a standard outer CV boot on the Tremor axle to see if there's any noteworthy difference since the standard boots are sold separately, but it isn't very high on my to-do list right now.

That is why I wanted Tremor CVs, everything that I've read states that they can handle much more angle, and are stronger. So not only can I run more lift without binding, but they are stronger too.

I also want the Tremor knuckles to help with geometry.

Right now I'm focusing on my Mach 1, getting it ready for track season.

I'm heading to Moab end of August, so was planning on doing all of these modifications before then.

If the boots are weak, and people aren't breaking the regular CVs, then I'll skip these. The Tremor knuckles with the standard CVs sounds like a good pairing.

Hmmm. I also noticed an impact mark on the band next to where mine is leaking.

These are listed as fitting the Tremmor

When you check by VIN those boots are not listed as fitting the same axles sold by Ford Performance, but that doesn't mean that they won't fit. There are several different versions being used, here is a short list of the RF axles being used on 2022 F150s: For LF axles, just change the 8 in the part number to a 7.

ML3Z-3A428-A (TX1205): This is an axle without corrosion protection used on trims that have eIWEs and a non-limited slip front axle.

ML3Z-3A428-B (TX1206): This is an axle with corrosion protection for trucks that have eIWEs and a non-limited slip front axle.

ML3Z-3A428-C: This is the Ford Performance Tremor axle with corrosion protection for trucks with eIWEs and the Torsen front axle.

ML3Z-3A428-D: This axle is for Raptors

NL3Z-3A428-C: This is an axle wihout corrosion protection for trucks without eIWEs

Looks like I’ll hold off until my OE shafts fail, then I’ll consider the Tremor ones especially with the issues some of you have mentioned.

Quick question: what about the TORSEN differential? Any potential issues I should be aware of ?

Appreciate everyone’s input in this thread!
