There actually is a recent TSB related to Sync issues that covers the updating of the IPMA as well as other modules. You can perhaps complain you’re having issues with the phone connecting or having the screen rebooting. That would allow the dealer to get paid.
You're right, but I've already seen countless people get turned away even with the TSB in hand. Especially 2021 owners who are out of warranty. Even with a Ford ESP, they've gotten the run around. Ford pays a max of 6.5 hours I think of you meet certain criteria and only 4 hours if you don't. No where near the amount of time needed to do everything. In many cases, the owner still needs to get involved in the process one way or another to get things right.
No active OTA trigger for your truck at this time. What you are seeing is what we call a phantom update notice. You can try disconnecting the negative cable from your battery for 20 minutes to see if it goes away, but it may still be there after you do it. Annoying af....I know.
Seems like this truck was manually updated with FDRS at some point. It is on the latest Sync software and shows very little pending updates. The only update it shows are for the door modules which were released last month, I think. The truck is pretty much fully updated.
Thanks Javier. What does it mean that "GWM is there so nothing is stuck"? I suppose if it's crappy luck with OTA, it means it's stuck, isn't it? Anything I can do other than another FDRS?This is what you show pending. GWM is there, so nothing is stuck. Just crappy luck with the OTA process.
If you did not have a GWM update pending, that would mean Ford would need to release the final string of updates for your VIN in order to be able to be fully updated. The fact that is it there showing pending means you're not stuck where are. With FDRS, you'd be able to update it. If that GWM was not there, even with FDRS, you'd be "stuck" where you are.

Correct. The update has to be available to be sent before it can be sent, so the fact that it is there is a good thing even if the OTA trigger hasn't been created for your truck yet.
