I have a 2021 lariat that seems like the rear jumps over bumps doesn't hold the road well. I see people recommend bilstein 5100 eibach pro truck and fox 2.0.. but I have a hard time finding the front for those because I do not want to change ride height at all. Is pursuing this worth it or should I just get used to it and accept it?

All of the ones you are looking at have adjustable collars to set how much front lift you want, from 0"-2.5". If you want to leave it at stock height, you set them at zero lift.

I did the 5100 and ordered the fronts complete with no lift. Also added a rear sway bar. The truck handles much better.

The Bilstein 5100 set is always a good choice

I'm no mechanic, but maybe someone can answer the question...if you are leaving them at stock height do you need a spring compressor to install them? Or can you just disassemble the strut, remove the old shock, and slide in the new one?

When I was looking at doing mine it was cheaper to buy the complete set up. Taking apart to change shock and reassemble was pretty close to just getting it all in one. You could just start with the rear shocks and see if that helps what you’re after.

What sway bar did you add? How different does it feel like over bumps and stuff

Everything I'm seeing the complete struts are like 900 just the inners are like 360 a set... unless I'm wrong

I went with a Hellwig sway bar. I set in the middle position. The rear of the truck is more stable on the ground. The body roll in corners is way better.

That sounds about right. To replace the shock the entire strut has to come out and then taken apart, reassembled and installed. Buying complete saves a lot of hours. The spring in the complete strut is a bit stiffer also.

The front strut needs to be disassembled even if you're keeping the stock springs. You can't just change the strut without taking the assembly apart, which is QUITE dangerous to do without professional equipment. And as noted, pairing the proper springs to the new strut would provide much better performance.

Bilstein 4600 is another option. I had both 5100's and 4600 on my 2009 SCREW and I loved them both but the 4600 were a bit more plush. Stock coils on both set ups.

I realize this will sound stupid... but I hate the idea of having bright yellow and blue shocks on my black on black on black truck lol

You're not alone! Not sure if there is a paint durable enough to hold up on shocks? Never looked into it. I have Eibach Pro's slathered in rust protection which don't look good, but when you live in the rust belt....

Give it 1000 miles, road grime will cover that up no problem!
