TCU Reboot

I am the latest victim of low battery power. Went out to my truck (no running board deployment, no lights etc, could not unlock it using the key fob, had to use the physical key to get into it?

As a result, I found it is not able to connect to wifi, no lane keeping available (no bluecruise only speed and following distance engaged) even after an 8 hour drive yesterday.

What is the best way to reboot the TCU please? I have read to disconnect battery for 15 mins (is that the engine compartment and cabin 12 volt battery or just engine compartment 12 volt?) or is it better to use Forsan to reset the TC? If so, how is that done, It will be my first foray into Forscan.

Not sure it will solve your problem but you can do it with Forscan as well. Go to the wrench, find the TCU, module reset then follow the instructions.

If you have your original battery, I would consider replacing it, or at least put it on a charger.

I found your VIN. It seems like your truck has not reported itself to the cloud since 11/21 and your battery SoC was 59% then which is lower than what it should be. I can't see any codes your truck has reported recently.

Thanks @rugedraw, had the truck a year, never had battery issue prior, truck stood for 3 days in the cold without being started and Boom…
Battery replacement suggestion? Anything but FoMoCo??

I replaced mine with an Optima yellowtop H7. Ive had great experience with Optima from back in the day when I had more elaborate audio systems, so I went with that. They aren't cheap, but they make a great product and you can get them on Amazon for 5 interest free payments.

I and many others have had good luck with the Walmart Everstart Platinum if you are looking for a less expensive option

No particular reason. I don't think an H8 is necessary. It doesn't hurt to use an H8, but I didn't want to deal with the bulky size and having to order a different insulation sleeve to fit around it.

My 2022 does not have an insulation sleeve. I wonder if the dealer tech forgot to reinstall it when they did the warranty battery replacement?

Update, TCU reset (using forscan) did not fix the issue however did find numerous DTC codes that have populated.. Guess its dealership time??‍
