Hello All! New to the forum so here is my fist post. I just purchased a new to me 2023 3.5 EB Supercrew Lariat with 26,000 miles and had the dealer I purchased it from replace the windshield. The original one looked like someone shot it with birdshot.

The Dealer had a glass installer that’s been in business awhile, replace it with a Ford original windshield. I finally paid closer attention to it this evening and noticed it was off center left to right. The camera looks perfectly centered in the location but there is a bigger gap on the driver side A post. Is this something I should be worried about or am I overreacting?

Take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. Thanks!

It would bug me. Then again, I had mine replaced and I don't think I looked at it.

Damn OCD, now you made me go look at it. Mine is pretty dang close. I'd have to go after it with a tape measure but we are splitting hairs at that point.

One side has a 1/4” gap, the other side is almost 1/2” gap.

Camera is part of the windshield so it will be centered to the windshield regardless. They can pull it back off and recenter it. I'd contact them directly and make a fuss. Tell them more than one person has noticed it and it needs rectified. You're going to leave them a review, what it's comprised of depends on them -- you're simply giving them a chance to determine what the review says before you leave it.

If it does not leak at mikes carwash..or make whistling noises

It should ok,
It would drive me batty a few days
It's your truck...
If it bothers you. Get them to redo it
To get 3/8 s8de to side
It's a mass assembled truck..gaps are the word.

Would you be able to get over it over time if it was your truck? You make some great points. Thank you

I'm really OCD about my truck.

The more I look, the more things I notice. Paint coverage is a little light in some places, my 360 camera isn't perfectly aligned (it's damn close though), and I have faint scratches on my front windows from sand scraping it on the window seal. My bed camera is also two inches to the right of centre.

At the end of the day, it's a mass produced item that suffers wear and tear. Some things won't be perfect, and some things will break as time goes on. What you find acceptable is a bar only you can set. I got my truck and my bumper wasn't aligned right. I made Ford fix it. 18 months later, I saw the light paint on some of the body lines and decided a repaint wasn't worth the time, effort, and potential for things to be made worse.

yes, maybe , ...........after awhile you see something else that sticks in your craw...
like why is there not a driver rear seat back pull release like the passenger side in the crew cab
?
why does the rubber trim keep popping up on he cowl by the antennae one day, then the next its flush

its the little things that make you appreciate the truck

It would bother me as well but -
If it’s not leaking I would leave it because with every windshield change you run the risk they damage the paint or interior trim, or you get a leak or a camera isn’t properly aligned. Yes all these can be fixed but if they aren’t happening now you are ahead of the game. And nothing says you won’t get a stone chip down the road requiring replacement anyway and at that point you can make your expectations clear on alignment of the replacement. Just my 2 cents.

Yes! I was giving that some thought. That they could damage the windshield or something else on the repair.

Might be grounds for divorce ;) Seriously, many functions rely on the windshield. If everything appears to be working (cameras, lane centering/keeping) and it doesn't leak try therapy for the OCD that you and I share.
