Bakflip MX4 Tonneau Cover installed. No leaks

I installed the Bakflip MX4 Tonneau Cover yesterday and it rained overnight. No leaks so far.

The install was fairly straight forward. Alot of tweaking movement needed to made to get everthing to close and to get the seals right. My guess no more than any others. I'm happy with it so far.

I also went with the MX4 on my '24 and have no regets. i'm very pleased with ease of use and enhanced security over soft covers.

What / how did you seal the tailgate and its corners ? I have the “Ford” hard tri fold and leaks bad enough I can’t store anything in the bed for long periods of time.

I put the MX4 on my 21 when it was new. The truck didn’t have a sprayed in bed liner so it got pretty dusty inside. I installed a Bed Rug and no more dust and it has also held up well!

I’m looking to do the same with the Pro Access Tailgate…..is Bedrug going to work a design for that or will I just have to cut the tailgate portion off?

Put the MX4 on my 6.5' bed w/ PAT. I went with the spray in liner, so am looking at weather stripping options to account for the PAT.

If you go with the bedrug, I would expect there will be some trimming involved, compromising the seal.

I have the MX4 as well. It’s dry up front, a bit of water gets in when I’ve gone through the touchless car wash. Other than that, the bed stays relativity dry at the tailgate

I always use 1/2" foam pipe insulation to seal the tailgate. it's cheap and easy on/off, easily compresses and doesn't bind opening/closing the tailgate. I don't open the tailgate that often so it's not a big deal.

Does water get in? If not, what modifications did you make if any? I ask because I had mine installed yesterday and I've noticed a gap at the corners of the tailgate (pictures attached).

Does your cover sit similarly as mine? I asked the installer if they could move it back about 1/2 inch but he said it would leak from the front. But given how it looks on the front it might be possible.

Any thoughts?
