He said that the only way to tune 23 models is the PCM Swap program. They send you an unlocked PCM, and a laptop with an interface cable. This service also requires that they schedule their tuning guru to call you and remote in to the laptop they send to configure everything. Once everything is working properly, you send back your PCM and their laptop, and they refund you the 1100 bucks.

So what's the actual cost for 23s then if the 1100 is refunded!?

So, the 1100 isn't refundable. ( I will fix my original post). They charge an additional $1000 refundable core charge, which is returned once they get back you original PCM and their laptop.

They also charge you shipping in both directions.

So-

$779.99 for the tuner and 2 tunes
$1099 for the 2023 PCM swap and tech support
$1000 dollar refundable deposit
$280 for the injector upgrade and E85 calibration, which also includes modified original tunes for the larger injectors
$300 for shipping the PCM and laptop etc. back and forth.

Multi-tune is not available for the Powerboost yet.

That said, I'm sure a Powerboost on E85 is no joke, but not sure if 2300ish dollars is worth it.

Yeah, that's pushing it. Unless you realllly want it. One more reason I love my '22..

I doubt I'll bother with the multitune upgrade at this point, but it's a nice option to have for many, I'm sure.

The best part about the multi tune is the FlexFuel part. Being able to dial in and run any combination of ethanol and gasoline is awesome. Add in one of these Fuel it ethanol sensor kits, and you don't ever have to guess. I have one on my Mustang, works great.

All that just to nuke the trans to drop another $4k on a rebuild. I'm happy sitting at whatever I can get out of the factory injectors/turbos without the need for on-the-fly tune swaps. That's already enough to put the trans/drivetrain at its dependability limits. I'm sure it'd be a blast while lasts though.

They claim +89 Wheel HP just with their 93-octane tune, so I'd have to imagine the E85 tune is 50-75 more on top of that.

Im considering the tune as much for the transmission tuning as the power increase. Im pretty disappointed in the behavior of the Ford calibration. It'll never be a ZF 8 Speed, but Im sure improvements can be made.

I am gearing up to go digital nomad - full time in the camper, and the ability to switch to a tow tune on move day without disconnecting the PCM is a no-brainer. Further, the ability to switch to e85 once I get there and drop the trailer is cake icing.

Launching parts out of the truck ?. I’m all for getting more power and such but you need to approach it the right way, like making sure the rest of the drivetrain can handle it . So who’s posting the first launch video?

so for straight e85 all you need are the DI injectors? How much $?

No, it's not available for Powerboosts... yet..

No, you need port injectors, not direct...and possibly a fuel pump..
..the cost depends on which injectors you choose, the tune you want to run, and the fuel pump you choose...gotta call Livernois and tell them what your goal is..and they'll tell you what you need.

Well if you talk to them again, ask them about the E85 upgrade package mentioned in the video.

All the E85 package is port injectors and a tune...

I am going a little "above and beyond".. I'm doing the port injectors and a larger fuel pump..
