Over the years I have tried several different cabin air filter because I always felt the OEM cabin air filters were okay but nothing great. I tried a few different brands with different features like being HEPA, activated charcoal and scented. They seemed to work okay but they didn't seem last, so I seemed to end up back OEM. I recently noticed the musty smell and I have already replaced my OEM with a Bosch HEPA filter and it was good for awhile and then same story as others.

This time I came upon the Motorcraft FPP92 - mironAir proTect - I ordered one and installed it a week ago. During install, which is so much easier than the GEN 13 F150, I was comparing the FPP92 to the Bosch HEPA and the FPP92 had much better build construction and weighed quite a bit more as well. I finished installing and I am actually amazing, air flow is the same or slightly improved and musty smell is gone. It definitely does a good job filter odors and particles(dust). I was impressed but we will see if it lasts for the 12 months or 15,000 miles. so far so good... here is details from the Ford parts website and link the Ford parts.

Best cabin air filter I have tried thus far and I hope it lasts! This is merely my opinion and I will update over time!

The one I ordered from Ford per your link was replaced so I guess I won't get to try the one you suggested.

I am pretty sure that you are good to go and still getting the improved micronAir proTect cabin filter.... that is the same part number on my box. Probably just something on their computer system.

I am just curious, how can a cabin air filter be "OK" vs "Great"? What, do you sense a different smell in the air? It's not like an oil filter that oil actually passes through and if it breaks down it can potentially damage the engine.
Serious question.

And BTW - the link is broken.

I swapped out week 1 to the Wix. The factory filter let every smell in. This filter is much higher quality and works well.

As I mentioned with previous OEM standard filters I had a musty smell. Also I live in an area that is sometimes quite dry and windy that leads to a lot of dust which I really hate in my vehicle. I could be completely wrong but I believe with the recirculation enabled that it filters the any interior dust.
I drive by a cattle processing plant on the way to work and I do not smell the horrible smell there so that is a plus.
More importantly, I have pretty bad allergies and it does a great job reducing pollen.
it does have anti-microbial properties as well as improved air quality in general.
I figure if i am spending money to filter air in my to improve my health and life i might as well in my truck.

Obviously, if this isn't important to you then it isn't a big deal. I feel it is a very postive improvement and would recommend to anyone. I do not have any serious health conditions but figure the old adage of good in good out is a positive step!

I found the filter they are sending me on the Ford Parts Store for about half of what I paid for the one in the link. I called then on it and I'll see if I can get the one I paid for. If not, I'm going off on them.

That is typical for any Ford/Motorcraft part. I was actually just trying to provide accurate information from the OEM about the filter.

I was not directing anyone to purchase from the link. I was merely sharing good intentioned information. Both part numbers were listed on the link for your cross referencing/shopping adventures!

Yes! My wife has cancer and her ability to breath is compromised to the point that outside irritants(dust, pollen, strong smells, etc.) will mess with her sinuses and trigger attacks. She can't use an oil filter to stop that stuff.

I appreciate the link and the review. I just wanted what I paid for, not a cheap replacement where they pocket the difference.

Well i would check with them tomorrow because the part number they listed as a replacement/substitute was the same part number that I have in my truck.
I think it was probably just their automated system that caused the email.
At the end of the day, if they are not sending the filter you ordered.... it should be an easy fix from them.

I understand the issue with family members/spouses with cancer and this cabin air filter is superior and worth it even if it doesn't last as long... in my opinion.

I hope you get something figured out and hope for only positive health improvements for you and your family!

Fair enough.

Does it limit air flow, compared to 'standard' filters?
