My apologies in advance, @rugedraw ; I'm a repeat customer: you checked my VIN for me about 2 years ago and answered my questions. I continue to get OTAs, but not very frequently. However, in this case, I have a specific inquiry: do I have the 12/23 IPMA update? There is a specific FORScan mod I would really like to make, but having that update is a prerequisite. An earlier attempt at making the FORScan mod failed, so I suspect I do not have the update. If I don't have the latest IPMA update, then I guess I need to go the FDRS route????

You are very generous with your time and provide a terrific service - THANKS for what you do!

VIN: 1FTFX1E89NKD60082
Unfortunately, I lost my access to PTS earlier this week. If you have FORScan, just check the details on the IPMA and it will tell you what strategy is on.

Damn!!!! On the other hand, you probably welcome the break from the constant deluge of VIN requests....

I wasn't real sure where to go to find the details (I am not a FORScan expert...), but after looking around under Vehicle Information, then Configuration, I found the following for IPMA:

Ford F-150 Request VIN Lookup Thread 1726157077175-j5

Is this what you needed?

It was no bother to me. I would run the VIN's during down-time at work. Now I'm just bored af when I have nothing to do. lol

The 12/23 IPMA update was the ACJ strategy. As of know, FDRS is the only way to get it.

Your going to have to be patient dealing with my ignorance. Does that mean the information that I provided was not what you needed? ACJ strategy????? I have NO idea what you're referring to... Where do I find what "strategy" I have? Sorry, you got stuck dealing with a nincumpoop....

No worries. The strategy is the software version of the module; in this case the IPMA. In the pic you posted, that strategy reads ML3T-14H102-ABR.

The last three letters is what I am referring to.

I'm watching VIN requests stack up on various forums now. :(
And I'm not surprised that you are "bored" with the sudden bandwidth you have that used to be allocated to VIN lookups. Folks probably don't realize how efficient you got at doing it, and that you are multi-tasking rather than just staring at forums all day.

My ridiculous post count, on a few forums I participate on, are a similar circumstance, I bet.
I make a living monitoring monitors. ?
Literally surrounded by them almost anywhere I am. The forum(s) are just a small space on 1 monitor and it's barely taxing on me to glance, refresh, and glean.

Having said all that, the void left from the lack of Rugedraw responses is truly a void. I consumed almost all of them for so long. I ain't come to terms with it yet. I'm just saying.

Ahh, I see! Duh! I see "Strategy" now...

And the constant education continues....

So, this means I need to go the FDRS route, and get on the mongoose wait list, right?

Would you happen to know any of the differences (specific or general) between my current IPMA version and the so-called "latest" (containing the ACJ strategy)? Pure speculation o my part, but maybe updating the IPMA would open up other FORScan options?

Exactly this. It literally takes me seconds at this point to check 90% of the things people ask for.

All I know is the team of Sync engineers at Ford just got an increase to their workload. lol

Correct.....FDRS is the only way to get the newer IPMA software until Ford decides they are ready start pushing it OTA. I think we are close, but who knows?

ACJ strat will allow you to enable the new BC functions (if you have BC) and turn signal cameras while towing. Aside from that, even without FORScan intervention, the ACJ software will give you much improved driver assist feature operations in terms of lane centering, pre-collision assist, etc.

Bingo! The turn signal cameras while towing is what I'm really after! (I don't have BC).

If the IPMA update came out OTA, that would be great - save a lot of hassle. But one thing I've learned through this forum (and you) is that there is no way to predict when an OTA goes out, and why some people get it right away, and others (like me) get it 4~10 months later, and some people never get them!

Thanks again for all of your assistance and education - not just on this task, but overall.

The only vehicle in Ford's line-up that has gotten the newer version of the IPMA via OTA is the Mach E, and it got the BAE strategy which is newer than the ACJ version we can get. There are reasons I believe it will start coming to the Lightnings and F150's soon, but like you said: Even if one truck gets it tomorrow, there is no way to know when your turn will come up and even if it is sent to you, there is no guarantee that it will go through.

Can you elaborate why you feel it may come to the F150 soon ?

Because the new APIM update that is getting released to our trucks and the Lightnings now is the same APIM update that was released to the Mach E's before the 1.3 update was pushed out to them. It is pure speculation on my part, but very plausible.

I lost my access to everything a week ago or so. Post a pic of what you show pending and I'll tell you where to start and what takes long and what doesn't.
