Is a 36 gallon tank available on a 5.5 bed with the Powerboost?

It’s beginning to seem to me that the 2023 Powerboost was only available with a 26 gallon tank. Does this mean that I could not do a replacement change to a 36 gallon tank myself?

36 is not available from the factory….only 30
There may be an aftermarket custom tank available. Not sure as hell wouldn’t go through that much trouble for 6 gallons.

Get a 5 gallon Jerry Can for when you have to have that extra 6 gallons. Leave it home when you do not need it.

Thanks for the info—I was under the impression I had a 26 gallon tank. Sure enough the manual says it’s 30.6. I agree that that will be big enough and not worth the effort to go to 36. If someone came up with a 40 gallon or so aftermarket, I might consider that. My concern is mileage while towing, which I will be doing. I’ll be pulling a 7800 lbs trailer GVWR, not dry weight.

Titan Fuel Tanks has a 40 gallon available for the 5.5’ bed. Looking at $2300+ no word on comparability with the PB.

There are external, bed mounted tanks available as well. Keep in mind, larger fuel tank is going to impact your payload and tongue, weight abilities.

The OP asked about a Powerboost.

Ecoboost 2.7/3.5 or V8 comes standard with a 26 gallon tank or with an optional 36 gallon tank. I have no doubt your window sticker is correct.

Comes with a 30.6 gallon tank. You don't need the 36 gal tank as you get the same range.

In fact, for 2024, I think 36 gallon is standard for all trims. Except for the Powerboost, which keeps its 30.6 gallon tank for the reasons detailed above.
