My mpg is always low as I don't need to travel more than 5 miles to get to nearly all of my stores and restaurants we regularly go to. Consequently, the truck is barely warming up and I'm arriving at my destination.
If my GMC got totaled or stolen, I would buy another. Usually at this point of truck ownership (a little over a year and a half) I'm getting the itch for a replacement and am searching the interweb for what will be next. I don't have that feeling with this truck. I guess that shows how satisfied I am with it.
If that's your primary use case you should have bought a lightning and saved a lot of $. Textbook use case for an EV

That is true but I am now able to travel again. We could no longer care for my MIL with progressing dementia and she is now in a memory care facility. Once my wife takes care of some delayed health concerns we will at least spend a few weeks in Florida in the winter. I'll drive and I'm not about to screw with charging stations.

Running down 75 there's a tesla fast charger every 35 miles or so. It's ~40 minutes every 3 hours which some people don't mind. I'm capable of 5+ hr runs at a time so it's different equation for me personally. Most of the time I'll just find a middle-of-nowhere offramp and stop 3/4 of the way up it and inspect something at the rear passenger side door for a minute or so and then I'm good again. Some say it's male privilege, beats me :ROFLMAO:

Actually, just save a bunch of money with EV and then rent an ICE for road-trips, if it's just 1-2 per year, as it'll save all kinds of wear and tear, and money.

It's 19 +/- hours straight thru for me. That's including pit stops for me, wife, dog and truck. I'm not about to rent a truck for a couple of months a year to have an EV. I just had a neighbor get hit in his Honda ev or phev on a Saturday evening. The car was undriveable. He had to have it towed to his driveway because the towing company couldn't drop off an electric at the local bodyshops. He had an adjuster look at it on Tuesday and it was hauled away the next day. I haven't talked to him to find out if it's totaled or being repaired.

Just checked out a 2024 GMC Denali Ultimate on a whim.

Have to say the interior of the GMC has my Limited beat in every way... comfort, massaging seats (mine were deleted by Ford), ability to send heat to the seat backs only if desired (butt only on the Limited), wife loving the seats (can't argue...).

Only positives I could think of for the Limited were the power running boards (can kick the switch to put them in stow mode so the dogs can jump in, just maybe, slightly easier) and slightly better gas mileage. We haven't used the Powerboost 7.2K a single time since we bought the truck last year, so that is a non-issue, as well as it is not compatible with the generator panel that is in the house.

Any other plusses for the Limited (don't bother with the 7.2k, we haven't used the Powerboost 7.2K generator a single time since buying and have an 8K standby generator that has worked awesomely in the past.)

? ? ?
Cant overlook the new GM looks like ass.

???

This coming from a RCSB (also referred to as a Ranger on steroids) owner. LOL

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and one persons idea of beauty might not be everyone's. LOL

Edit: Showed my wife a picture of a RCSB F-150. She asked why would anyone want to own a truck that looks like a child's toy.

As I said previously, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I have had vehicles in the past that everyone else thought was ugly but I liked. For example, 1978 Ford Fairmont 2 door coupe with a swapped in 351C engine. Ugly as sin in everybody else's eyes, but I loved it. To each his own. ??

What bugs me is that neither Ford or Gm will put the top trim on a crew cab long bed. I like my 6.5 bed, so I can't get either top trim. Yes it's a deal breaker for me. Yes I understand why they won't , { low sales no doubt }, but it's only a trim package so why not give customers the option .

My employer in 1978 bought 3 Fairmont wagons, 6 cylinder , if I remember correctly they had a 3 speed on the floor. They didn't look so bad in the wagon body, bulletproof , couldn't kill them, Lord knows we all tried till one was successful and sent a rod thru the block. Don't you know he radioed in and said the car lost power and was making noise. He drove it back to the shop, once he turned it off it was done.

You can get a 6.5' bed on a top trim platinum??

You can't get a crew cab 150 of any size w/ an 8' bed

6.5 foot bed all the way up to Platinum Plus. What top trim do you want above that?

Platinum plus, like limited before it, you can only get 5.5 ft bed. It's the same with GMC Denali Ultimate, only available with 5.5 bed. My point is if I wanted a Denali ultimate I have to settle for a short bed. If I step up to a Super Duty/ Gmc HD then you can have any trim you want, but not in a light duty. Why?

I have a 21 Platinum with the 6.5 ft bed. My point is if I wanted a Limited [platinum plus] or a Gmc Denali Ultimate, they only come with the shorter bed. If you step up to Super duty/ Sierra HD, then you can get any trim you want. Why?

GM and Chevy are absolute trash. The only engine that I would consider would be the baby duramax. The 5.3 and 6.2 have the DFM which eats up lifters all day long.
