Hey @Jus Cruisin, you have a 6.2 Denali with some quality miles on it. How about a review?

Edit: I understand not responding right away. You probably have back pain from those seats. Take it easy big guy, you’re not as young as you used to be

My buddy has been trying to find a 6.2 gm truck and they are hard to find. When he finds one the dealers are upping the price. I guess gm is making the 6.2 hard to get.

A buddy got a brand new Cadillac Escalade, had 6.2...lasted 2000 miles, locked up. Still at dealer waiting on a replacement.

I am looking at the same thing right now. Currently have a 21 Platinum with no deletes and looking at a 24 Ultimate with the 3.0l diesel. The dealer had 1 with the 6.2 and one with the 3.0 due to the lot in 2 weeks. My power boards have decided to become possessed and the dealer hasn't had any luck with them. I am waiting on Ford now, so if they don't have something in the next 2 weeks, I may actually pull the trigger. They are offering over $10k off with incentives. Will be hard though as I have been Ford loyal since 96 but the quality isn't keeping up with the times.

Will be trading in the 2023 Limited on Saturday for a 2024 Denali Unlimited. Test drive sold it for me.

Pulling a horse trailer with the Limited, I had an excessive amount of sway going down the highway compared to my old 2018 XLT (and yes, I inputted all the various trailer parameters into the Limited). GMC dealer sales manager said "no problem" to pulling the horse trailer on the test drive. No swaying at all on the highway compared to white knuckle inducing sway on my Limited.

Also, had the electrical gremlins make an appearance on the way to the dealer. Brake assist error, collision avoidance error, and multiple trailer error messages (no trailer attached) showed up on the way to the GMC dealer. Took three, yes three, engine off, door open, restart engine cycles to clear all errors. That sealed the deal for me. Completely done with Ford's inept programming.

I'll have a couple of items coming up for sale soon... Mongoose adapter that was used twice, external Powerboost speaker bypass from Megaohm (never installed), and Powerboost fuel door pin from Megaohm (also never installed). Will be posting the items in the Marketplace section of the forum.

Thankfully, the F-150 and GMC Sierra share the same size battery and wiper blades.

Today I swapped out the recently installed H7 battery (which will be used as a spare for the new truck) with original POS Ford battery that caused so many issues, as well as new F-150 wiper blades I just installed last week for the original blades that were leaving streaks. Wow, well within eleven months and less than 13k miles, I had to replace both the battery and the wipers. Yep, Ford quality... where are you???:facepalm:

However, saves me roughly $300 or so in future replacements on the new truck. ?

Yup! Great Ford quality is coming to roost. I’m on somewhere close to #30 in my lifetime. I’m curious when Ford will be dethroned as “Best selling blah, blah, blah”. It’ll be a sad day, but that dipstick running the show now clearly is worried about the bottom line, and NOT the customer.

When I was talking to the sales manager about the features that I really liked on my Ford trucks (2013, 2018, and 2023), he told me that up until 2019 or so, Chevy/GMC had nothing that would match Ford's reliability or technology advantage.

However, that quickly changed during the 2020 covid era when Ford canceled a bunch of chip manufacturing contracts and GM only reduced the contracts, didn't cancel. One result... Ford had multiple option deletes over many years, while GM did not. For example, my 2023 Limited had multiple deletes due to "chip shortage" while GM had no issues with massaging seats or heated steering wheels.

From my window sticker...

Bottom line, GM improved their reliability and technology while Ford kept telling their customers "We have the best selling truck over the last blah, blah years, we're great, trust us." All the while, not delivering ordered trucks for months on end and deleting ordered options. I put all of this on the asshat running the show.

You betcha! I was set to buy a Bronco, and now, just because of quality, I’m not. I’m going to wait. Jeep would be the last brand I’d buy. No one else has a bronco competitor.

It was probably trailer sway control that was turned on that seems to cause sway. 23 limiteds and platinums were just decal kits on lariats. They really started to shaft customers with job 2 2022 and all of the 23s with their deletes while offering fractions of the parts cost.

"trailer sway that was turned on that seems to cause the sway"... yep trailer sway control was turned on and caused the trailer to SWAY... a lot!! Lol. All the more reason to believe the Ford programmers are monkeys typing on a keyboard, hoping to eventually to randomly type the works of William Shakespeare. ?

So, I'm not hitting here as much. It's summer and not putzing on the net as much. Spent a lot of last week tooling up and down Woodward Ave (Dream Cruise week) in the Chevelle and bobbing around Lake St Clair in the boat.
But, you ask about the 6.2. It's trouble free for me. Uses zero oil in between oil changes. No check engine lights and zero warranty claims. SuperCruise is flawless looks to change lanes before I'm thinking I'm getting close to slower traffic and returns to the lane as soon as I'm past the slower vehicle. I rarely adjust the auto climate control. I had just had the truck in for an oil change, rotate and balance. I reset the trip back to "0" and the LOM was showing 17.7 mpg for the 5,500ish miles. Any interstate trips are in the 22 mpg range on the drive summary LOM.

There are roughly 700 homes in my sub there are a lot of GM trucks and suv's. Just in my cul-de-sac there is a Silverado,, Yukon, 2 Escalades, 3500 GMC diesel and my Sierra. No Fords but 3 Lincoln suv's. There a quite a few EV's in my sub, from Teslas to Porsches. Suv's dominate the sub. Not that stuff really means anything.... If I lived in the Dearborn area it would be dominated with Fords.

Not sure about the seat comment? The seats are typical leather. They get better with age. Just like a baseball glove or new cowboy boots (yep, a pair of Tecovas in closet).

Great to hear! Just picked up a 2024 GMC Denali Unlimited 6.2 at the 2nd GMC dealer I went to (1st dealer low balled me on my trade in.)

120 miles so far, 19.2 mpg average so far driving the same as I always have. 2013 F-150 Limited Powerboost averaged 20.3 over 11 months.

I completely agree about the Supercruise! In the Limited, the Bluecruise would more often than not either ping/pong in the lane or drift to the right side of the lane to say "hello" to the vehicle in the next lane. Supercruise, stays in the center of the lane and the automatic lane changes are magical!

Looking forward to no more electrical gremlins, random dash warning lights that the dealer cannot replicate, and most of all, gas mileage equal to or greater than what is listed on the window sticker. Lol

2013 F-150 XLT 5.0... window sticker 17 mpg... averaged 20.2 mpg over 67K miles.
2018 F-150 XLT 3.5 ecoboost... WS 19 mpg... averaged 23.2 mpg over 34K miles.
2023 F-150 Limited Powerboost... WS 23 mpg... averaged 20.3 mpg over 13K miles.
2024 GMC Denali Unlimited... WS 16 mpg... averaging 19.2 mpg over 120 miles.

All the same driving habits and only vehicle that got worse mileage than window sticker average was the Powerboost. That, combined with the electrical gremlins and annoying AF space shippy noise in electric mode/beeping in reverse, is what drove my decision to trade up. Lol.

My mpg is always low as I don't need to travel more than 5 miles to get to nearly all of my stores and restaurants we regularly go to. Consequently, the truck is barely warming up and I'm arriving at my destination.
If my GMC got totaled or stolen, I would buy another. Usually at this point of truck ownership (a little over a year and a half) I'm getting the itch for a replacement and am searching the interweb for what will be next. I don't have that feeling with this truck. I guess that shows how satisfied I am with it.
